Are they accepting that huge a load though? You may want to double check before dropping it off and bring surprised if they dont.

I will be talking with them before the show. Most likely I will pay them to pick up the comics here before the show starts.

I expect that the quote for this would be lower than the $5k they told me initially.

Otherwise I will find another way to get the books to Baltimore.

I was unaware MCS would even be at Baltimore.

I've got a chunk of slabs ready to give them and will put together a couple short boxes of raws for them , by than....thanks for the tip.

Dunno if they'll get posted in time for Christmas sales, though. MCS posted on the CGC board they are having problems w/ their work force and sickness.

Dunno what MCS's policy is on mask mandates but any business that doesnt have mask mandates on their grounds is asking for this kind of trouble.

And we're not even touching the winter Covid surges yet.

Good idea, surely there is a limit to how much quantity they are prepared to transport back.

@ComicHoarder When Conan couldn't make it to Heroes Con himself he told me that he would be at Baltimore Comic Con but I didn't know then if it meant that MCS would be there to take consignments.

In my recent NYCC thread I asked Steve Borock if he was going to the show and he said he was no longer going to New York and San Diego because he preferred smaller shows.

I then asked him if he was going to Baltimore and he replied that MCS would be setting up at the show to take consignments.

This is all something that I just found out this week.

When I gave them seven short boxes at Heroes Con it took them a couple months to get everything scanned in.

I was told they got lots of books when I called to follow up to see if I could get things moving along faster.

I've noticed that the last couple weekly auctions had 26 pages of stuff instead of 30. I thought they were getting fewer books but maybe they're checking them in more slowly. That would also explain why the last consignments I sent them had two boxes arrive on the same day but start check-in a week apart. They started the slabs later even though those should be quick and easy to set up.

I am guessing that hiring Steve Borock has increased the volume of books that MCS has received since then.

Still not cool risking my thread getting locked for something that was completely off topic.

Not to take anything away from Steve, but it seemed pretty obvious a few months back that the downturn in the market would have a bunch of us sending books to MCS. Now the task will be to bring in buyers for all those consignment books.

I now have everything worked out with My Comic Shop. They are going to have someone come here and load the boxes onto a truck. The boxes will then be put on pallets at another location before being sent to Texas.

Getting everything organized now so I can schedule the pickup.

Right now I am doing the work to organize the books and triple check the list.

Nothing is done until the books are out the door.

I am very excited to have the dollar amount and all of the terms nailed down.

It has been four months since I closed the ebay store and took all of the listings down.

Yes, they will take everything from floor two to the truck.

I made sure of that.

Plan has a slight revision.

They are going to come to my house on the way back from Baltimore Comic Con and take everything with them on Halloween.

Good news!

That must be a Hell of a relief for both parties, especially yourself....I know I'd be worried about hauling a truck load of slabs to any show, for any purpose.

On a side note, figured you'd be a good person to ask as I'd imagine you attend this con every year....

Last time i went to the Baltimore con was in 2018 or 2019.

I got there on Sunday, with a short box of raws for CGC.

Had about half a dozen books for Ennis to sign for CGC SS, and the Baltimore comic con website listed Ennis as being present all 3 days.Or at least it implied such, as he wasn't shown as appearing only Friday and/or Saturday.

His booth was vacated like a western ghost town when I got there Sunday.

The CGC SS rep told me he had left either early on Saturday or only stayed for the first day, cantvrecall as it was like 4 years ago.

So, my question is....do you have any idea what his schedule will be this year?

Is there any way I could find this out so I don't have to get to the show early Friday in oorder not to miss my chance?

I have like 3-4 copies of Pteacher 1, 4 copies of Boys 1, the Boys Herogasm 1 (black glow in the dark variant, thqts q book that'll probably pull a 9.8 but if I can't get it signed, and it comes back at 9.6, it's a wash or even a lower ROI than selling it raw....that's a book I slept on too long.

Same with Preacher 1's...that book needs to be CGC SS'd in at least 9.6 to be worth more than $100....far cry from when it was viewed as the next Walking Dead 1 and blue CGC 9.6's were selling routinely at around $450. :crying:

I have a dealer badge so I can go before the show opens to ๐Ÿ’ pick books, but at this point, as much as I know I'd almost certainly find books like DC romance Lichtenstein swipe sources that many dealers are wholly unaware of ๐Ÿ’žโ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’žโ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’™ ... for pennies on the dollar during the first day of dealer set up , I really need to keep pressing copper and modern books for subs to CGC and CBCS.

But, I digress ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜น

If you can point me in the right direction, I'll owe you one

@ComicHoarder

Last year Ennis had a long line (one hour I think) but I had just over a dozen books and he signed all of them for free.

I would suggest you swing by his booth and check his signing times when you get to the show so you can plan around it.

With a vendor badge you can check it out before things get crowded.

Today is moving day!

The guys from My Comic Shop will be here this afternoon to load my slabs into their truck.

I am still working on the final inventory in Excel as I managed to grab about four hours of sleep last night.

When I finish the last 13 CGC boxes I will share the totals after I have fixed the errors and omissions on my list.

It looks like the total amount of CGC boxes will be 127 or 128.

I plan to take pictures to share here as well.
