Man of Steel 2 Trends As DC Fans Choose Between Superman or The Batman Sequel

Man of Steel 2 is trending (once again) on social media, as a recent Twitter post sparked debate between DC fans about whether or not The Batman 2 or Man of Steel 2 would be the sequel they want the most. Needless to say, that debate has been pretty spirited, but it's clear from the fact that the debate is even happening that there's still a lot of love out there for a sequel to Zack Snyder's Man of Steel!

So which would you prefer to get first: Man of Steel 2 or The Batman 2?

If Zack Snyder is directing then MOS2, otherwise Batman.

Man of Steel has my vote. I hope they choose someone other than Amy Adams if Lois Lane makes another appearance.

Seems like the pill colors should be reversed, so they match their capes.

I have to go red pill. I really like the direction this Batman went. Although Henry Cavill is the best Superman EVER, I'd still like to see another Batman movie before Supes.

DC's attempt at an extended universe is a joke. The Batman was great

Haven’t seen Batman yet and didn’t care for Man of Steel. It’s also been 9 years since the release of MoS. They have to write and film it, god knows how long that could take when WB is involved. We could be talking an entire childhood passed between Man of Steel 1 & 2. Bring Batman for sake of rational business decisions.

The Batman was a very good movie. Very good.

Cavill was a good Superman in mediocre movies.

We will get many more Superman movies given the WB/D deal and The Batman was a massive success so I don’t think any pill taking is required.

You Bet! And if taking both would get me a sequel to the Zack Snyder's Cut of Justice League I'd take FOUR Pills!

Is there a none of the above option?

No? OK, fine. I guess the blue one then.

Not a big fan of the recent(ish) Supes movies, but I fell asleep three times in the process of forcing my way through Batman. I'll take Gorshin's Riddler any day over the braying moron with the obvious clues and transparent plans, who's dressed up in the Gimp's outfit from Pulp Fiction.

Whoa, whoa...now we're just talking crazy. Have yet to see Batman. Man of Steel was OK; but that storyline was essentially already sequeled in Batman/Superman and the Snyder release of Justice League. Where would they take the story? I freaking HATED Jessie Eisenberg as Luthor; that would be a non-starter to me (if he's the villain). I imagine their saving the 4th world for future JL projects; anything involving a warworld threat or Apokolips would have to be a team story right? Do they have a metallo krytonite? Intro parasite? Do a cadmus story?

Or maybe they go magic? I'm not sure Bizzaro or Mr. mxyzptlk would attract non-comic people. Felix Faust?

It's always funny to me how folks seem to either love or hate "Man of Steel." There isn't much middle ground there.

I really liked "Man of Steel." I personally think it's the best Superman movie ever and that includes the original Christopher Reeve movie.

I also liked "The Batman" (more the 2nd time I watched than the 1st) but it really wasn't a superhero movie. It was a detective movie. If Bruce Wayne had traded a trenchcoat and a fedora for the cape and cowl, the movie would have been pretty much identical. I thought it was very well done, though.

If Zach Snyder directed the Superman sequel it would be blue pill hands down for me so that's my pick.

Don't forget Braniac. There's decent story potential there with our world being so tied together with electronics and smart devices.

Man of Steel. I'd rather watch Henry Cavill as opposed to the Dark Knight Twilight Glitter Emo Vampire with the three pack a day and a fifth of scotch gravel voice.

Maybe you won't, but maybe you will....
Either one, just pick a pill...
The Bat has toys, but Supes is strong...
Either one, you won't be wrong...
Supes can't stand Luthor's Kryptonite, and the Bat is weak from Scarecrow's gas...
Either one, just peek into the looking glass...
So speak up and use your voice...
Supes or the Bat? Make a choice...

Blue for me...

@etapi65, @OGJackster & @Byrdibyrd I’m with you here. I really liked “The Man of Steel” but would be concerned with what would follow. There is this thing with superhero movies where every sequel needs to be bigger and more insane then the last one. Considering Superman saved the earth from being terraformed into a new planet Not sure I want to see what gonzo crap the Hollywood bozos pull out of their butts. It would probably be much the same as what already does.

On “The Batman” there was some things to like and something’s that were not great. I think the main reason most people didn’t enjoy the movie was it was just WAY to long. It was just trying to have two main plots in one movie and what ended up happening is the villain plot was under developed so they could develop a supporting character instead.
I would give a sequel to “The Batman” a shot based on potential.

So I guess that’s a red pill, although I thought “Man of Steel” was a better movie. Now that I have typed this, I am not sure it makes any sense haha. Don’t listen to me I may be crazy 🙃

Pretty sure the vast majority really, really liked The Batman. It is a film that will stand the test of time, unlike the majority of the comic book pop-music fluff that gets churned out.
