@Wade_Story I'm now seeing this message, sorry!!! Junji Ito was signed at Crunchyroll Expo 2018, Toshio Maeda Sacanime 2023, and I purchased Go Nagai and Naoko Takeuchi from two private collector almost a decade ago.

Sometimes you just can't win. Vogue magazine signed by Yoshitaka Amano was too big for CBCS and Beckett slabs. Vogue is about the same size as a Newtype magazine. At least I have the authenticated label.

@DrWatson I really thought about it. I actually have multiple copies of all those books. They're not worth very much even in high grades....I'll try my luck with my other Nemesis 2's or crack this one out another time.

Love that Human Torch #1. So freakin' hard to find (for me anyway) in very high grade.

It was hard to find raw in that grade. I have been searching for about 4 years. Bought several copies that are maybe 9.0, but I am pleased to have the 9.4.
It was the only exception to the other batch of 9.6 & 9.8 books because it was so hard to find.

I stopped using CBCS years ago after one of the most HORRIBLE submission blunders ever, which included some of the worst customer service discussions I've ever experienced.

Fast-forward to this year when CGC started damaging modern books I swore to stop submitting to them until the issue was resolved - however I had customer books needing to be submitted so when I saw the BANANA coupon offer from CBCS I figured it was worth it to give em another shot.

This order came back perfectly, and better yet I was NOT charged any additional duties/importing fees via FedEX when it arrived in Canada (something I always worry about with CGC). This is a major factor, so I will certainly consider using CBCS going forward since using them is now cheaper AND easier for me overall.

Happy how these graded, even though none of them were pressed prior to submission (which is okay, they are all just being graded out of a long box collection to make the sale easier for everyone - someone else can benefit later with a CPR on em)

@SauceDog Awesome!! regarding the NOT charged any additional duties/importing fees via FedEX...did you choose FedEx Ground or a different FedEx return shipping? My understanding is the FedEx Ground triggers the Brokerage Fees etc.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, as every time FedEx has required any amount of brokerage/import/duty fees from me in the past they were mentioned in the notification phone call prior to delivery (and this one didn't have that at all)

Alot of you on the boards have recently submitted books. Be honest. I would like like to know. Do you feel your books were over graded? Were your books in your opinion fairly graded?
Do you believe a press everything standard helps?
I have some big books I would like to send in. I'm on the fence.
I'm not into spending a large amount of money to get dogged out.

NO... I sent in 26 books in the bananas promo. I always use pre-screen on the grades.
23 of the books hit the mark. 3 were rejected. No over grading. Strict, but accurate.
If you have reserves, start small. See what you think.
If you can grade accurately yourself, then you should know where the books should land.
If you think a book is 9.4, then be open to grades from 9.2 - 9.6.
There is always the chance books get rejected. And, you could get a 9.8.
If rejected, you are out 8.00. Small price to pay for "big books".

Depending on how big the big books we're talking about...all big books should be slabbed regardless of grade in my opinion. When I see unslabbed big books for sale, I assume it's unslabbed for a reason. I believe they're restored/conserved.

Press everything. There's no reason not to do it. The fee is nominal compared to the benefits.

I have personally bought a 7.5 and turned it into a 9.8 with a press and resub. Best $10 I've ever spent on a comic book.

I will never press screen another book. That was a waste of $10 that could have been applied to the press job the book ended up getting any way.

What's your concern? That the books will come back under graded?
