Yes, they are. Even newsstand keys from the 80's can be worth some serious coin.

shouldn't this note it as a variant? cause there was a photo cover and a normal cover - I have both!

Maybe it depends on whether the photo cover or the art cover was considered the standard cover. I think the one I have is the art cover, but I'm not sure...

@KatKomics - yes, it is the variant Photo cover. I will probably send back in with my next re-Holder submission.

@Byrdibyrd - the photo is the More rare variant “B” cover. MCS and GoCollect both have as “B” and Variant Photo respectively.

I hope to get my CBCS order back this week. I will post pictures when I get the books. Yesterday I got a sweet pair of TTA for 45 dollars. I picked up TTA 98 and 99 from an Instagram claim sale. I should get all my books around the same time. I'll post them when I get them.

I think I have 10+ copies of the digest #1 though none as nice as yours. Maybe 6 or 7 copies of #1 and a couple #-1.

The benefits of being an 80s/90s kid… I can flip through my collection without worrying about damaging anything of much value.

That ASM252 was a PGX 6.5. I got it two years ago for 75 dollars. The slab cracked and I sent it into CBCS. I got it cleaned and pressed. It came back a 7.5.

@Thomas8683 I was looking at a couple PGX slabs over the weekend, but I am terrified of buying one and finding out they didn't count the pages or something. Glad you got a good book at a good price.

It's a valid concern. I've only bought one PGX book (Web of Spider-Man #1) because the price was dirt cheap and it's a newer book, so likely not secretly mutilated. I'd be very leary of buying any PGX book older than Copper Age.

I got lucky with a PGX MMC 86, and yes I knew it was a risk. Fortunately it was complete and unrestored, but it did go from a PGX 6.5 to a CGC 5.0. That was nine years ago and I doubt I'll try to push that luck again.
