When I was out at the end of that dock I could feel water go down the back of my waders. Fortunately I got out and put my wallet and phone in his side by side. When I was done I had 8 inches of water in my waders and every article of clothing I was wearing was soaked thru. ![]() |

My lucky Lions socks didn’t equivocate to fishing. They netted me a 5 lb catfish and no Walleye. It’s still early for the run but my feet were freezing. Quote: Originally Posted by HeinzDad It turns out these bastards weren’t dried out on the inside of the boots. |

Also, I did the virtual Great Smoke Renaissance Revival this year. The goodie box included 32 premium smokes. I thought I'd share since I see you guys enjoying cigars ![]() ![]() ![]() |

today was boat repair day...no photos cause I didn't think about it!! seal between the hull and keel had a little wiggle - should be none!!! took wire brush grinder wheel along the entire joint - and wham o! first 6 inches had a gap 1/16 or less at the start and about 5 or 6 inches back all you could fit was the thickness of a utility/exacto knife blade Ground out a 1/4 channel between the hull and the lead keel about a foot back on either side. 1st time using G Flex 655 - an epoxy product that has some flex - if I filled in with normal epoxy it would be too brittle and likely chip, if I used a sealant like 5200 it might have too much flex? My first time using G Flex - thicker than epoxy but more liquid than say 5200 (like caulking). Maybe I should have added thickeners?? I think I like the liquid properties though as it should seep into all the places I couldn't directly get at. Of course it was too cold today -this stuff normally has 3+ hours gel time cure time and 10hours workable and 24 hours to cure but seeing as how today was 41F and the next few days will be 32F or lower who knows how long this will take! I didn't think it would be as liquid as it was and didn't think to bring my plastic sheets to tape up to form the epoxy - so I just used tape - should keep it all in and from oozing out?? maybe I'll be re-applying next weekend ![]() at $65 per small kit I could easily use 2 or 3 more kits to do the whole keel joint if I really needed to.... I will of course have to then go over the joint with glass and epoxy but I think I'll wait to see if there is any wobble on haul out in the fall?? This has been fun with boats with Josh!! |

The G Flex stuff seemed to work?? Rather than running down as I worried it did indeed ooooze in..maybe too much? Im reticent to treat the hull to deck joint "properly" might just light epoxy (with filler) over and paint (after sanding) rather than epoxy with fiber glass the propper way!! ![]() ![]() |

My fishing buddy Mike got a good one when we were out the other day. Water is still in the 40’s, but next week could have a few warmer days.![]() |

@esaravo mouth of the Niagara river is 2 celcius (so I was told) so that's what...36?! I'm a little ways away from that but with the breeze off the lake it is just cold baby cold to be working on my boat!! | ||

If it's legal by a quarter inch it's a keeper. I have spoken. I'm pretty sure my "cigar" lured this little feller in, he was trying to partake at a young age.![]() ![]() I pissed away 45 minutes using an underweight sinker. The river is still high and 25 mph gusts were just slack lining me. Raising up to a half oz will keep me straight the next few days. |

Running out of time!! Cool wet spring is not my friend! Did half the keel joint "correctly" and half...not so much. Hopefully this "flex" epoxy works as it was supposed to and I can finish off stuff next fall or spring....keel done enough for now!! ![]() ![]() |
