| Sad. I've never been a big fan of country music, but the mother daughter duo literally owned country music awards for nearly a decade | ||

| The Judds were scheduled to begin a 10 date tour in September 2022. It's hard to believe they would put someone with dementia through that or that she could even participate in a concert tour. | ||

Quote:Originally Posted by DrWatson I doubt that tour would have gone forward at any rate. She was sick and had been for years. It's why she retired. She didn't just take a sabbatical. She couldn't go any further. There is an odd thing going on in the music biz right now. Concerts are scheduled for a date in the future. Or entire tours. All of these tours have to be insured. A performer has as little as 24 hours to cancel the entire thing. The pandemic has made it easy to cancel, then the insurance company has to pay out when it is canceled. We saw it happen with a Dead and Company tour earlier in the year. I'm sure - especially now - there will be no Judds "tour" and reasonably sure there never would have been. She was 76, for God's sake and sick for decades. For all I know, she would be 77 by then. Maybe the MOST we might have seen was a video of Naomi Judd wishing everyone well or MAYBE a wheelchair appearance, certainly not a whole 10 day rock-'em-sock-'em tour like the old days. NO elderly person does that. Except Willie Nelson. And the STONES, MA-A-A-ANN!" If he weren't already dead, that would have been like having a 50th anniversary Pink Floyd tour and pulling Syd Barrett out of his mothers house and propping him up with a lawn rake to the delight of tens of thousands of Pink Floyd fans. Who cares if it killed him? Well, it's been said before, the world is a stage A different performance with every age So open the history book to any old page Bring on the lions and open the cage Give the people what they want You gotta give the people what they want The more they get, the more they need And every time they get harder and harder to please The Roman promoters really did things right They needed a show that would clearly excite The attendance was sparse so they put on a fight Threw the Christians to the lions and sold out every night Give the people what they want You gotta give the people what they want The more they get, the more they need And every time they get harder and harder to please Give 'em lots of sex, perversion and rape Give 'em lots of violence and plenty to hate Give the people what they want Give the people what they want, whoo Hey, hey, hey Hey, hey, hey Hey, hey, hey Hey, hey, hey When Oswald shot Kennedy, he was insane But still we watch the re-runs again and again We all sit glued while the killer takes aim "Hey Mom, there goes a piece of the president's brain!" Give the people what they want You gotta give the people what they want Blow out your brains and do it right Make sure it's prime time and on a Saturday night You gotta give the people what they want You gotta give the people what they want Give the people what they want Give the people what they want Give the people what they want |

| Unfortunately, several sources are saying that she did indeed die by her own hand. I understand her choice. I'm sorry that she was not able to find relief from her personal demons. Rest in peace. | ||

Quote:Originally Posted by Jesse_O She sure did. 1st report I read cited dementia. So, I was wrong about that. I wonder if it was family assisted suicide or she did she do herself? I'm really not reading the articles because - well - I never cared for the Judds and their brand of homogenized country music. Before anyone passes judgment on that, I don't know any of them although I do know a guy named Judd. It's difficult for me to work up any tears when someone I never knew passes away. Like reading a random obituary in the paper. The bright side is she retired in 1990 because of hepatitis. I remember that. So that was 32 years ago. She died at 76. That's a reasonably full life. The CMT thing they did recently was pre-taped. I still have a hard time believing they were going to begin a tour in September. Naomi Judd clearly wasn't fully present at that taping. What I am more concerned with is what Ashley Judd did to her face. She looks like she has some unfortunate work done on it. She was so pretty before..... |
