CBCS Customer Support Ticket #4711417401

Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user
Back at the end of the year, a 3rd party sent some of my comics to CBCS for non-Fast lower tier grade and encapsulation. On Dec 30th, I was notified by CBCS Customer Service that there an item missing. Turns out that indeed, the 3rd party did not send that item to CBCS and I told CBCS to just pull that line item off the order. A few days later I confirmed that the 3rd party still had not sent the item back to me, and knowing that there was no way that CBCS would have started grading that submission, I reconsidered my earlier decision and asked that he send to CBCS anyway. Unfortunately, I didn't think this through and could not verify that the 3rd party sent my original submission paperwork with the single item and now knowing the CBCS is grading over 4,000 comics a week, I had a WTF was I thinking moment. Sure enough, I had to move in with follow up emails to CBCS as to the status. After a couple of emails, CBCS opened the ticket referenced in the title. From February through April 12th, there were a few emails from me asking for confirmation or status update, several emails back and forth with CBCS asking for further details to which I would respond.

This morning I received the following email:

Your request (47114) has been updated. To add additional comments, reply to this email.

Hello,
I have confirmed this CGC slab is now with the order.
Thank you, Have a Great day!

Customer Support

So, CBCS Customer support rectified my 3rd parties error and my further exacerbation of that error. It wasn't an instantaneous or overnite correction, but with some patience and understanding on my part, it got resolved.

@Sborock, thank you to your team for rectifying this and my apologies for the error and any diversion that your team experienced. As you guys are receiving thousands of comics each week, I understand and appreciate the effort.

Cheers & Excelsior!

Nuff' said.

@Nuffsaid111 There is no difference. Why the member page has different TATs is a mystery for the CBCS web team. https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/17391/page/1/suggestion-cbcs/#17

@Scifinator

Shocker, but not a shocker...I sent customer service a question regarding the status of the submission from 8.12.21, that was moved to billing a few days ago, in which I immediately paid. And received a reply within an hour stating the order is complete and tomorrow it will be moved to shipping.
I replied with another question, and received a reply within 5 minutes.
Anomalies are happening.....

Did the follow-up go something like this:

Q: Are you serious, complete and about to be shipped?
A: Yes, enjoy! Hope to see your unboxing thread on the CBCS Forum in due time.

I guess - thankfully - being busy beyond words is not the same as being incompetent. Personally I have faith in CBCS to give high quality service once they actually work our requests.

I know right....
Gotta share the good news you know...
So tired of seeing so many grown men whine!

CBCS is cranking out 4,500 +/- books a week (inside source).
The boss man (hippie) works 6 & sometimes 7 days a week for us and all the cry babies can do bash.

It's real simple, comic books sit in a box, right...
So they are either sitting in a box in your back room, attic, closet or your mom's house.
Or they are sitting in a box waiting to be graded.
Then when we get them back, they sit in a taller box
Either way, they are sitting in a box until we sell them or give them away.
You can't get them graded if you don't send them in.....

So if that doesn't work for some of those impatient whiners, then leave them in your shorter box and don't submit them.
Or send them to someone else to grade and complain on their forum.
Time to put on your big boy pants here man....

The negativity in this thread is off the rails sometimes.
So, to lighten the mood here I will soon begin pressing the next 30 bronze age books to submit sometime in May. Yeah, I press my own books. Saves a lot of time. Like what a year now the pressing department is taking? Business is good.
It's not that difficult, "If you have patience". That may not work for the whiners lol..........

I'm trying to figure this thing out but I ran out of toes to count...lol...

@CoalTiger
Pressing my own books saves so much time and $$.
You can do it too...
Everything paid for itself after the first 30 books.
Took me about 3 months and 30 to 40 cheap books to practice on to get the press dialed in.
Now it's like taking a lazy river raft ride...lol...

@Nearmint67 - Coincidently, @ 173 business day TAT, that falls right in between the estimated 224 day TAT on the Main page and the 126 days listed on the Membership page.

But what is it compared to the estimated TAT when they were submitted?

I had 2 submissions "received" 1st week of September. One arrived a couple weeks ago, the other one is still there. The estimated 17 week TAT was actually 31 weeks for one sub and at 33, so far, for the other.

Yeah, I have a Sept. 7th submission that's in grading. So it should into labels/heat seal next week or two.

Steve (my hippie buddy) is training three new grades simultaneously as well as trying to get some grading done. It won't be long before those three leave the nest and start to fly on there own, and the grading will pick up quite a bit.
Then, it will be on the production division to keep pace.
Come on anomalies....

It's all perspective. I might be in a Best Buy trying to pick up a piece of electronics they said they had and didn't but I paid for earlier. When I complain about the time it took me to drive there plus re-arranging my schedule to do so and you overhear my rant, you might say "Man, that guy is whining." I don't feel like I'm "whining". I feel like I am rightfully complaining. Like you would in the same boat.

And BOTH of us know what that is like so when I read this shit about customer service being absent, I can relate. Maybe not to this specific issue, but they are all the same. I feel apathy toward the people who would like some resolution and are finding none. I don't have to submit comics into that environment to know how that feels. And then I can feel happiness when someone mentions their thing was resolved.

But everyone is so quick to call others names and judge them without remembering we have ALL been in that particular barrel. Why is it when someone says "Say! I'm GLAD you found some satisfaction finally" others don't chime in and comment "Say! That was awfully NICE of you to add your well wishes to the OP like that!"

People are a funny breed.

@ticktocktyler

Not sure what the particulars are on your orders, if you have any. You have every right to rant.
My reference to any one whining, really was targeted at the few individuals who go on and on on the same thing. But I was not trying put anyone down for it. All I was doing was, like anyone else in here, expressing my opinion on it.
I am a positive person and continual pessimism does get old. Surely you can see that.

Hopefully you and I and everyone else who have submitted our valued comics will be able to get our books back soon and CBCS will be able to weather this very long and frustrating situation and be better in the end right?

Gotta start that next batch of books for my May submission.

Right on. I wasn't nagging or trying to berate you. Just trying to point out to a few others that one mans whine is another mans legitimate beef.
