I never understand people complaining about buyer's premium when should bid based on the total price incl premium. It is sellers who are hit by high buyer's premium but HA can get away with it cause for certain items they get high prices so in the end - it evens out for sellers Nice art @SpiderTim |

Their buyer's premium has a minimum of $29. Then it's based on 20% once the 20% exceeds the $29 (in this case $140 bid is the threshold). This was $19 minimum buyers premium until very recently. At traditional auction houses I've never seen a buyer's premium under 15%, though there are several specialty websites (mycomicshop) that are able to do much lower premiums. Even my local auction houses have a 15% for in-person bids and 20% for online. @poka has the right idea, you have to have a final number you're willing to pay and make sure you include buyer's premium, shipping, and taxes prior to bidding. It's not a mystery. @SpiderTim Nice pieces I'm sure they'll ramp up tonight. |

Friends of mine had some art in an HA auction that ended over the weekend. From an N of 1, I learned that auctions can go up quite a bit at the end, just like for comics. Also, if you take enough stuff of enough value, Heritage can give a deal or waive the seller's fee. Best of luck @SpiderTim |

That Jonboy is really nice. Problem is my ocd will kick in. I'll need the issue to go with it. Then I'll need it stabbed as well... it's a pit I don't want to walk into. ![]() |
