Rips start to bring you into the 3.or 4 or lower range.... can't remember what the overstreet guide says.

For that book...hard pass on buying or getting graded

Is there something special about this book? Key? Sentimental? Monetary?

Is Bane a key?...is Bane more Key than S&M batman???

Bane is cheap...NM raws at least..and has 20 or 30 years start on S&M batman....need to wait a decade plus to really see where S&M falls out...right now he is firmly flash in the pan

this is a usfule online grading tool

Overstreet says 1/2' spine split and only minor interior tears in 5.0 - and that's just spine split - this books is firmly 3 range...likely lower

I'd like to say I still turned out alright, but that would be a lie. flanders private msg quote post Address this user
Not worth grading, try to sell it for $20.

My guess would be 5.5 or 6.0 range

This comic is definitely a read copy with handling wear, but can still be a very desirable copy.

*This could have one major defect like a larger piece out of the cover, a long tear or a detached centerfold.

*It has stress lines on the spine and creases from the opening and closing of the cover.

*This could have a light reading or subscription crease or a rolled spine, but is not damaged enough to reduce eye appeal dramatically.

*Some cover discoloration, fading in colors and soiling is allowed.

*The cover and/or inside pages could have some tears and/or folds.

*With the absence of many other defects, the cover can be detached from one staple, but cover cannot be completely detached from interior.

*Books with slightly brittle pages cannot grade higher than 6.5 and generally are even lower in grade.

*Pages and inside covers could be brownish but not brittle.

*Depending on the look of the comic, very small amounts of tape could be acceptable in this grade.

OK.. So maybe a modern Key. I would say not worth grading unless top grades are possible.

5.0 - 5.5 with the tares I think keeps it from the 6.0.

This pic is from the latest Overstreet Guide to Grading Comics (6th Edition).
They are allowing these interior pages with chunks missing due to "poorly trimmed". I think this is far worse than those small tares.

I recommend not getting it graded. I agree with Flanders.
