UV Protection Covers for CBCS slabs17216

Collector Belarak private msg quote post Address this user
Rick Morgan from Immaculate Comics is making UV Protection covers for CBCS cases. They fit inside the recessed area of the slabs. I am linking the video he made for his YouTube channel. He has a limited supply of the covers so if you want any order them now.

I've been following Rick for quite awhile and he does some crazy stuff with comics. He's a chemist by trade and he is constantly trying to discover new and better ways to press and clean comics.

He has a website where he sells some of the cool stuff he has created:

This was brought up previously. 22-24 bux is a bit steep in my opinion. Someone mentioned that some Gerber bags are UV resistant. That might be a more cost effective solution.

Where's his Bat-package? Byrdibyrd private msg quote post Address this user
Immaculate Comics has some pretty cool stuff, though there's some of it that I would be hesitant to use myself.

@Belarak his website needs a lot of help-

I tried the “Contact us” and it just gives an error (tried like three times)-

Then on one of the products the IMMACUCLEAN wanted to find out more about it and the link to the instructions takes you to wish dot com lol-

Hmmmm

@radd76 If you click on the ImmacuClean Cleaning Instructions-Download it will take you to a page with a YouTube video where he talks about how to mix the concentrate and how to use it.

A lot of people have expressed concerns about the chemical and what it will do to a comic book. He has several videos that show it is safe to use on comics and it is not dangerous to people or animals.

I haven't used it but he has cleaned books with it that were sent to CGC and had blue labels.

I tried the Contact Us on Safari and Chrome with no issues.

@Bronte Yeah $24.00 does seem excessive for a simple insert and Mylites do have UV protection. I suppose the people who use the Comic Book Wall mounts would have a use for them. I personally buy metal frames with UV and UV/NonGlare resistant acrylic.

that was probably me! E Gerbers MyalarD is UV resistant blocking 99% of UV light. They don’t offer “slab” size but they offer bags large enough to accommodate a slab. I’m still trying to pry my wallet open to create a bulk order. I’m not sure why it’s so difficult; you’re buying at cost rather than the inflated prices. I’m going to try the pneumatic chisel and see if I can bust that thing open.

@HulkSmash

What size would be large enough for a slab?

I've bought the Mylites2 Legal Size / CGC Comic Slab

They're a little big but I make a cut from the top crease down to the slab and then fold them over. They work pretty good.

I don’t think a mylar bag that is UV reducing is a substitute for displaying and protecting.

All my slabs are also in mylar but they are kept in the dark. Not saying this $24 product is the solution I’d choose but for display purposes bags aren’t a good substitute.
