I've been finding these boards quite informative. So I'll ask a couple more questions.
- What do you folks use for determining fair market value? I've been using the ComicsPriceGuide.com

- Where do you like to buy/sell comics online? I know ebay has a bunch, and I have seen people advertising them here, but just wondering what your go-to places are.

Thanks!

I use gpanalysis. However, they only give CGC values. Raws and CBCS you have to do best guess.....

I use both of these. Covrprice is where I have my collection and comicbookrealm is nice because it's completely free - don't even need to sign in. I do still use GoCollect, though not as much as I used to after they 'improved.'

Another one that's really great, but use other sites, too, to get more than just books graded by The Other Guy.

PS: Welcome!

For value I use a combination of eBay sold listings, gocollect.com, and mycomicshop.com, depending on how much energy I feel like putting into a particular search.

For buying books I largely use eBay, occasionally mycomicshop, and at smaller rates the boards and other auction houses like comiclink.

I've been selling at MCS (mycomicshop)
I rarely buy on-line - mostly auctions (Heritage, MCS etc) but also World Wide Comics and Doug Sulipa comics
valuation?? mostly don't care unless I'm selling and then MCS shows you relevant GPA and data from their own store..might also check sold listings at e-bay

Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user
@Skywatching - I primarily use GoCollect. They did an update late last year that made their site almost worthless for a hot minute, but now they seem to have their feet back underneath them. Good for adding in your collection and want-list also

Yes, for a while, GoCollect was a disaster, but I've seen a lot of improvement.

I'll have to check it out again - it was great then horrible and I just stopped looking

It's not what it was pre-'improvements,' but it's better than it was after that. I still prefer the simplicity of the previous iteration, but now it's something I can work with again.

comics.gocollect now has CBCS sales as well. It's in a separate tab to CGC sales, but it's there. Do NOT trust their listed FMVs; you need to actually look at the posted sales data. Most of the FMV seem very accurate, but occasionally and seemingly for no reason, they are way, way off.

They fixed several of the issues from when they first launched the new site. Now it's just getting used to the different interface, but if you're new to using it, it's probably fine. They do have a monthly cost to use, but it's probably the cheapest option of the sales-across-multiple platforms options.
