My modern grading only submission is also at 37 weeks and has been in labels for 16 weeks. Not sure why they keep pushing it back since it's well beyond the estimated turnaround now.

I feel your pain, still waiting on July books also. If I had known this, I would have sent them to CGC and they would have been back in January.

same 😩

CBCS labels have grown on me, but there's no denying their communication is pretty bad compared to all other grading companies.

They definitely need to do away with the TaT estimates and do something like PSA, where they show which month they're currently working on.

when did your order get to labels?

I think probably 5-6 weeks in labels on the invoice before I got the email that they had been "moved to the grading area". Then it was only a week or two before they got shipped.

Though I wasn't checking in too regularly, so it's possible they were in labels on the invoice for a few weeks before I noticed.

Warlordofmars and Glow summed it all up nicely..

"Had I known" (or course the fanbois will counter with how could CBCS had known)

TATs when I submitted was 8-12 weeks and my books have always been with CBCS for longer than the TATs, and with everyone now aware that it's pointless to send in anything under modern, the faster tier submissions are continuing to push modern TATs longer and longer.

It is possible that my books could never see the shipping room.

This won't end until they stop all accelerated services, form 1 line - and clean this up from start to finish instead of continually changing the terms of the contract.

There's a huge difference between
meeting an reasonable estimate and what is happening here.

100,000s of books that were sent based on the information provided (which continues to be false and ever changing) is a class action suit waiting to happen (and you know there is a least one person out there who will try it).

Can't imagine having to refund all those customers (by the looks of the forums there appear to be more than a few).

@Fizbit I imagine the hearing would go something like this.

CBCS Lawyer: "But your honor, they're doing their best. It's only been 2 years since the pandemic made people collectible crazy. That's not enough time to change an entire business model! You know who's fault it is? It's these comic "spe-cu-la-tors". They're sending in so many books that it's impossible for them to keep up! If anything CBCS should be suing them!"

Judge: "Why didn't they just stop taking submissions to catch up on backlog?"

CBCS Lawyer: "That would cripple the market! Besides, if people want to wait 30 plus weeks then why should CBCS tell them no?"

The People's Lawyer: "Your honor, it says here on their website that the wait was 12 weeks last summer when many of these people submitted their books. Mr. CBCS, is it not true that people are still waiting for their books?"

CBCS Lawyer: *starts packing briefcase* "Well... I mean... come on, your honor. That was an ESTIMATE. These nerds should have known better! Plus, they had to focus all their energy on the comics! That's what matters right? Look how good these books look in this awesome new case! They couldn't feasibly make time to update that silly website. You know what these whiners need is a little patience!"

It's at this point I imagine the lawyer running out of the room so fast that he leaves a lawyer shaped hole in the door.

Aaaaaand SCENE! Thank you. Thank you.

BTW, my books that arrived Aug 17th, just entered grading. Home stretch? Could I possible beat the 40 week mark?

They always give SS books special treatment, they're nowhere near that for normal stuff. Still, you're right... one can certainly reminisce fondly about the bygone days of not so long ago.

I just got confirmation that one of my two orders from last year's Tynion/Dell'Edera signing has shipped. The books were sent back in July 2021, but the signings were postponed because of the pandemic. Once they were finally signed and back in Dallas, they didn't take that long to go through the grading process. These 30 books were grade-only, no fast-pass, no pressing. The other invoice of signed books got back to Dallas about a week or so ago and are in Pressing so those still have some time yet. I just wanted to post an update since the Tynion signing thread was closed in case anyone has books waiting from those signing events.

"fun" fact - Large bottles of Wine are named after Biblical/Historical figures!

Methuselah's are 6.0L bottles
Jeroboam 4.5L (1st King of the Kingdom)
Salmanazar 9.0L (Assyrian King)
Balthazar 12.0L (One of the Wise Men)
Nebuchadnezzar 15.0L!!! (King of Babylon)

the 'fun' stuff I learn working in the wine industry!!

They’ve seriously improved from six months ago not just for expedited tiers. My most recent order was delivered Friday March 18th and received on my Dashboard yesterday.

I had a similarly quick update on my dad’s books that I shipped in early this month

* Received 8/23/21
* Grading 8/27/21
* Production 3/14/22 (put in case)
* Completed 3/15/22
* Shipped 3/17/22
* Should arrive in KY tomorrow 3/21/22

Mine were received 5 weeks before yours and I've been in grading/labels for a month+

TATs for consumer are only 1 week shorter than modern (which was my submission tier), but I'm already 4 weeks behind with likely 2 months to go.

modern TAT 32 weeks. my order is at week 37 with likely 8-10 weeks (if I'm lucky) to go.

Anyone else still think that there is an actual line up?
