FYI - for people getting books picked up by MCS - sounds like they are doing a pickup run next week! Then of course a few weeks for them to scan the books etc. -but with luck by mid April could have books up for sale or auction! |

@KatKomics - Obviously Canada customers getting their April-June Press & Grade submissions back bodes well for me as most of my press submissions were sent in at the end of May thru July. ....Yours did have press, right?

@Scifinator So when a submission has moved to "grading", do they just pull the books from the vault and put them in another room to be graded? Just curious if you might know where the books go when listed as grading. And why they remain in that status for weeks or longer? If they are in grading, which takes only a minute or two, should they then be moved on to encapsulating? And that may be the case, and the dashboard just doesn't reflect that status. |

@Nearmint67 There is a rough outline of the grading process here The grading process takes a little longer than a minute or two as each book is looked at by multiple graders. On the dashboard the “Grading” phase encompasses more than just the actual grading. Grading also includes printing the labels and heat sealing the book in the inner well. When a book is in Grading it spends most of its time in those last two steps Encapsulation email goes out when the book/inner well/label are ready to be sealed into the hard outer shell. |

@Fizbit mine were 2 days before yours I didn't pick anything extra other than getting the graded as normal . I have seen them in grading for months now with no change.

A general question for the OG slabbers here: Assuming that there existed an era when TATs for number-day tiers were as stated, do you recall what the speediest pressing times were? |

@ShoddyShortBox 2-Day pressing was something like a week, I think? I never sent anything at a higher tier. Since they let the book rest for a bit to check for reversion I don't know that they can really get a book through much faster.

@ShoddyShortBox - i had pretty much been a lower tier and had not used fast press since 2019. I only recall 10-12 week Press TATs which were accurate until the pandemic.

Got an email yesterday that my press and grade Modern order from April 15 was out of grading and into the production area. Of course, the invoice has shown it to be in Labels since at least November (possibly October - not sure anymore). And it still shows Labels. Whichever. I hope their 11-month journey is almost over. |

So I just got back my book from the Al Ewing signing from last April. Which was exciting to finally get. But when I opened the box they mixed up the labels and have them encased with the wrong comic. Tried to email customer service to ask about it but no response yet and not sure if they were the correct place people to message in the first place. Any ideas on who I need to contact about this? Or should I just keep trying with customer service. I know this isn't necessarily a thread for this topic, but I'd been following it as I had been waiting for books for two orders that were received last April. So I know some people in this forum have quite a bit experience with CBCS and may be able to assist. Thanks in advance for any help.

@CatCovers - that happened to me also with my two grade only orders from july 6th. Both were already in labels (invoice) late last year, then the email announcement of such in late Feb then 1-3 weeks later they were either shipped or ready for pickup. Looks like emails for recently received submissions are being addressed first, then maybe as time permits they are catching up on back emails. |

Just hit 36 weeks for a no press, no vsp modern submission. And they have a TAT of 31 weeks listed for Modern books. Need to increase that estimate.

Wow. If they actually charged for invalid tier I would be very surprised. I mean unless the book was a major key I can't see how they could justify it given the time it spent in limbo.
