Fed Ex has to be the worst delivery company. Never have a problem with UPS around here. Package was supposed to be delivered Friday (signature required), was home all day and they did not deliver because customer was not home, reschedule for Saturday. Skip to Saturday and I am home again, I hear the Fed Ex truck backing out of my neighbors driveway. Let me check the app and sure enough I see customer not home. The address on my packages are correct and I have a sign at driveway entrance with the house number. This is the second time this has happened with CBCS Friday deliveries.

That would have been actual costumer service. |

thinking about the new tiers. is it possible CBCS should have made the new service tiers on the main page. but then waited for it to take effect in a few months time. give themselves time to catch up as much as possible and also comic cons are coming. on a side note cgc just ticked down TATS for moderns to 94 days from 113 cbcs needs to get a handle and reduce the times in house already |

@Nearmint67 Well today will be the 3rd day they will try to deliver. I think whoever is driving on Friday, Saturday and Sunday is the problem delivery person. Because the last CBCS delivery was just the same as this one. Then on Monday they just dumped it on the porch without a signature, which they could have done all the other days.

I know we love to complain about CBCS TATs, but just to give you an update on the other guys (CGC). I have an order for 10 books that I sent in for pressing/grading and yesterday (April 30) marks the one year mark. So pressing for the other guys are taking a long time too.

Then, they didn't fill-out the door tag..nothing, no information. Tracking down that package was a mess. |

Fed-Ex really needs their own "should and could do better but choose not to because profits are through the roof" thread. TAT at time of my submission was 8-12 weeks with the promise that it was quicker to submit through the Canadian office then to send to Dallas direct (instead it added weeks if not months) I'm at week 43 + 4 days. Book shave been in "shipping" for 3 weeks or so. Guessing they could arrive next week, next month, or next year. While waiting I thought it would be nice to know the grades. I mean I've already missed giving a few away as gifts, missed out on possible upgrade opportunities, missing out on selling... So after the 4rth email asking them to update the dashboard to show my grades (or even just email me, it was only 6 books) they finally got back to me and I was told that they would advise me of the grades AFTER I received the books... As in... after I am looking at the grades on the slabs with my own eyes... THEN they will tell me what the books graded... Just waiting for the website to read "we can't tell you how much we are going to charge you until after we grade your books, and even if we do tell you it's probably not true anyways" |

This is unexcusable, I am beginning to wonder if we have any legal recourse in this. We made lots of decisions based on the TAT we were quoted at the time. Honestly several books I got graded were for resale purposes, I was hoping to sell Thor #2 with the release of the upcoming film, same with She Hulk #1, I thought a YEAR was more than enough time to get these books back and ready for sale. Guess not

If CBCS could actually give us some MEANINGFULL information, there'd be far less complaining on here. For as annoying or entitled you may think we are for feeling to need to voice our valid complaints here, I can assure you we're just as baffled and frustrated with how quickly some of you are to tolerate, ignore, and in some cases praise CBCS amidst all their failures. So, sorry we're invading your happy space. Once we have our books back, this forum can go back to its former glory of spreading the invaluable information of vets directing newbies to the PDF invoice link and TAT page.

I'm sure the vast majority of the complaints CS is getting are from people wondering where their books are. The irony is that the longer it takes to get a response, the more complaints they'll continue to get. So they've created their own perpetual snowballing boomerang of disappointment by continuing to take on far more than they can handle. This would be like if your kid decided to take on 12 extra college credits their senior year to get ahead of their peers, but ended up getting a D+ in all of them. Then wrote on their college application, "Dear Mr. Yale, Please know that I tried like, really, really, really hard on all those classes. Sincerely, The student that's for sure way better than those other students." |

It's growing pains. When I am bidding on future projects, I have no idea which jobs I will get and or when those jobs will actually happen. It's the most frustrating part of owning a business. There are (ebbs & flows). Some times you have a perfect flow of work that you can sustain. Sometimes you are scratching your head wondering where the work is. And sometimes you have more than you can handle at one time. But you work through it the best you can. Sometimes I have had 5 employees, sometimes 10 and sometimes 20. Trust this, CBCS is frustrated and they are working on each area of the process to make this faster and less frustrating. They have hired many new employees, most are still in the training process. And they are increasing the amount of equipment needed for pressing, encapsulating, packing and shipping. Another thing to consider here is that it's not just CBCS anymore. Beckett runs the show. Their bean counters tell them "If you do this or that, you will increase your profit by this or that". This is where is sucks for us (for a period of time). But they also know that if they loose costumers they loose potential profit. And that is not why they are in business. So they will get this fixed. But, none of us knows how long that will take. So rant on....if it makes you feel better. ![]() Quote: Originally Posted by Supertom The most meaningful information here is, you cannot get your books back from grading if you don't submit them. So we could complain, or as you suggest, find alternatives or as I am doing, submit more books. They will come back. I am in no hurry. The books either sit in a short (ungraded) box or they sit in a taller (graded) box. So it's each persons decision as to submit and be patient and be smiling when we get our books back or don't submit and not have graded books. Now, I have to get back to pressing matters...lol...get it.. ha... ![]() |
