Where's his Bat-package? Byrdibyrd private msg quote post Address this user
@HexView Not even slabbed, even though I'm pretty sure The Other Guy would do it, given the track record.

Sold for over $7k.

Nothing nefarious about seller / source. No intentional hacking up an AC1 for parting it out (not like it would make sense). Provenance is verifiable too. Looks like the hacking was done more or less contemporaneous to publication period. I likely would have preferred the homemade bound copies… creative kids.

From the prior Heritage Auction description:

Superman Homemade Golden Age Stories Bound Volumes (DC, 1938-40) Condition: Average VG. Who hasn't heard stories of kids cutting up their comic for amusement. How about the first couple of years of Superman? These five home-made bound volumes used pieces cut from the covers of Action Comics #1, 17, 19, Superman #2 and 6 and glued them to construction paper covers. Stories included are from Action Comics #7-13, 15-21, World's Fair 1939, Superman #1, 2, 3 (three stories), and 4 (three stories). Paper is supple with a few tears. There are no complete comics as these are just the Superman stories cut from the original issues. A couple of pages are glued back-to-back. For a complete rundown on which stories are collected in what "issue", see our website.

Thanks. That fills in some of the unknown. Creative use of increasing profit potential.

That is much more cool than just a silly old 'No.1' in a slab
