OT; What are you eating or cooking, part 216960

Still learning bbq/cooking with the Kamado Joe....it really is different than propane bbqing. I really prefer the Kamado Joe....if you're into bbqing I would highly recommend the Green Egg/Kamado Joe style of bbqing. It's fantastic!!!

Kids wanted steak sandwiches with sauteed veggies.

I had to look up a sandie steak...interesting.. I'll have to try that! Here's the sandwiches before they were devoured. It's on a small plate..they're not huge, that's why there's two...and a jalepeno popper.

A good deep dish is anything but doughy. Key is moisture in the dough. Pain to work with but it bakes up light and crispy.

I have never made a cauliflower crust pizza but we sometimes enjoy one of the Costco-stocked brands.

We have a local pizza parlour that makes a cauliflower crust on request (they even shut down the kitchen to make it so anyone with celiac won't get trace flour in their pizza). It's pretty good but it can be crispy like a cracker, so it's not to everyone's taste. Reminds me of pizzas made with rice flour that I've had in Japan.

Wouldn't it be fermented cucumbers? Because how would pickle something that is already pickled?

lol..yes..fermented cucumbers!

or I guess non-shelf stable pickles? ie have to be refrigerated to store unlike traditional vinegar pickling method that can be stored on a warm shelf until opened

@DrWatson
Blueberry pastries are the best. YUM.
Had to look up FROG jam, though. Had flashes to a very non-YUM moment, but that got fixed.

Now I have to try frog jam. I've never had a jam with ginger in it before. The thought of it intrigues me.

Candied ginger is freakin' excellent (I take some with me when I fly because it can help with nausea, and given the 'quality' of airline food, sometimes I could use the help). I'd love to try it in a jam.

How about jam from Fig, Apple, Raspberry, and Tangerine? Anyone tried that yet?
