How bad is this corner damage?16927

Just got this book but it was packed very poorly and one of the corners looks dinged pretty bad. I was going to have this graded but with this is it even worth it or should I send it back?  |

| Thanks for the quick feedback. I paid as if it was a 9.4 or better so it's going back. I think I'm off buying raw books that I can't see in person but maybe I just got unlucky. | ||

| Hard to say when we don't know what book it is. There are plenty out there that are high enough in value that could justify grading despite that corner. As for the corner, it's pretty awful -- sorry that happened. It breaks color and the edge is worn. A press might help it present better but it's still definitely going to knock the grade down. Personally, I wouldn't grade it without having it pressed, but, even then, I can't imagine it getting anything higher than a 9.2/9.4 if the rest of the book is flawless. |

| Detective Comics 880 so very Modern; not cheap but not astronomical. The rest of the book looks excellent which is really disappointing. Paid $170 for it, what do you think would be a fair discount to ask or should I even bother considering there will be plenty more for sale? |

| @Brash Damn, that sucks. $170 for a raw shouldn't have that damage. That corner takes it down to an 8.5, IMO. I'd send it back. Seller should pack that better and just charge the appropriate shipping costs for it. | ||
