I was thinking of sending my #7 in @GAC, but it's in the other slab at the moment.

@WMorse that's an awesome cover!

This would be my first Steranko sig so it's a keeper....you should send yours in.

I would do it if Mr. Steranko would call me on the phone and tell me one of his entertaining 10 minute anecdotes while he signs my books.

I have a few Nick Furys in nice shape and a couple Steranko X-Men, too. Currently contemplating which one(s) to send. Sadly, my #6 & #7 of Nick Fury are too mangled. Then there's my banged-up copy of Spyman #1...
@GAC That is a gorgeous #1! One of my favourite Nick Fury covers

@WMorse That is so nice! I would absolutely send that in if it were mine. My raggedy #7 is nowhere near that pretty.

@Byrdibyrd Thanks!! These old time artists signings are what I gravitate to and they're few and far between. I missed the George Perez one but not Steranko.

Sadly I got an email from CBCS today. Yes a Sunday. They said magazine slabs will prolly not be ready before steranko signing ends.

Pricing and such to be determined.

Edit

Cut and paste of email response

Hi
While the magazine cases are almost here, I unfortunately do not have pricing or a way to invoice you for them until they are launched.

I am taking advantage of all the old timer signings. They aren't getting any younger and neither am I. Plus, I really just prefer the older esthetic. There are some amazing new artists out there, but it's just not the same.

I thought about it but I'm going to pass. Having the signature of someone I don't even get a chance to meet isn't very appealing to me. I think it's why I also passed on the CGC McFarlane signing. I'm also not a fan of submitting comics for signatures in order to profit.

It is definitely better when there's a story of meeting the artist attached to the signature, I hear you there.

I have a number of raw Sterankos that I'd consider submitting. He's one of the few artists that I would seek out because his sig is so nice looking.

But I seemed to have missed the memo. Do these books get submitted directly to CBCS or to some other location?

They get mailed to another location....Wyoming. I sent mine in to Wyoming and received a Received email from CBCS. You enter your submission the regular way, print out the invoice and send it in.

I like some signed books, but it just kills me to see signatures on high grade Silver age books... and some Bronze as well. Steranko does have a nice signature.

Actually, they get sent in to Wyoming, PENNSYLVANIA, which is apparently an actual location. Go to the CBCS website and look upper left for "Signature Events" and click on that. Full instructions there and also info on other signings.

I'm in agreement. I have some signatures on books. All my signed books are older artists except for my Alex Ross signatures. I prefer unsigned books for the most part but those old time artist signatures can be special.

Awesome books!! of all the books shown I'd choose the Nick Fury #1. I'd leave that X-men 50 in the slab because of your concerns and you have great alternate books to choose from...the #7 is also a great choice!

@GAC yeah i just took another look with a magnifying glass and I will keep it slabbed. I have a signed fury 1 that I had the pleasure talking with steranko as he signed it. Came back a 8.5. This copy looks way better so if it hits a 9.0 or better I'll be selling off the lesser copy. I also have a 7 that I had steranko sign, I left raw, it's a mid grade. I got this copy because I really like this cover and wanted a higher graded copy graded. I'll be selling my 7 as well
