I would like a pedigree copy of Fantastic Four 186, but most pedigrees don't reach that far into the Bronze age.

Most don't but there have to be a few out there. Maybe the Winnipeg, Savannah, or Don Rosa?

@Sagii Interestingly, since I have gotten into chasing some of the pedigrees I have managed to pick up a Church book and a Promise book. The Cosmic Aeroplane books I have seen available have been out of my league. Admittedly though, I have lower end Church and Promise books, which is all that I really wanted. Nice books to be sure, both are graded 9.0, but they are Westerns, which don't seem to be all in demand. That much makes it nice for me to pick up reasonable examples cheaply.

Now, back to my original question.

I have a list of the 61 recognized CGC pedigrees, Plus the Mile High II collection. What are the other collections/pedigrees that CBCS recognizes that CGC doesn't? Or vice versa?

The list per CGC is:

Allentown
Aurora
Bethlehem
Big Apple
Billy Wright
Boston
Bowling Green
Carson City
Central Valley
Chicago
Chinatown
Circle 8
Cookeville
Cosmic Aeroplane
Crowley
Curator
Davis Crippen "D"
Denver
Don Rosa
Don/Maggie Thompson
Edgar Church/Mile High
Eldon
Gaines
Green River
Haight-Ashbury
Harold Curtis
Hawkeye
John G. Fantucchio
Kansas City
Larson
Lost Valley
Mass Copy
Mile High II
Mohawk Valley
Murphy Anderson File Copy
New Hampshire
Northford
Northland
Nova Scotia
Oakland
Ohio
Okajima
Pacific Coast
Palo Alto
Pennsylvania
Promise
Recil Macon
River City
Rockford
Rocky Mountain
Salida
San Francisco/Tom Reilly
Savannah
Spokana
Suscha News
Twilight
Twin Cities
Vancouver
Western Penn
White Mountain
Windy City
Winnipeg

What am I missing? Is there a list here on the CBCS forum?

Anyone??

My only 2 Pedigrees. The Ace Comics was the first one I bought, and my introduction to pedigrees in general. I had no idea they even existed until I bought/saw that one.

Did some digging and found it. Worst mis-cut ever? and I appreciate Lon Allen's generous grade

I think Western Penn books go as far as the late 70s/early 80s.

Years ago I owned a western Penn iron man 150 so the ffs may go up to and past FF 186

Since a 9.6 Winnipeg FF #186 sold in 2016, that's clearly one that definitely exists. (GPA is the easiest place to find these things out.)

There's probably a Golden State copy out there somewhere as well.

@PDGray The 61 you posted is the list of pedigrees both companies recognize.

They have also both labeled various collections but I am not sure anyone is keeping a running list. Maybe between all of us we can get close?

CGC: from the collection of Nicolas Cage, Lloyd Jacquet, Jon Berk, Harlan Ellison, Dallas Stephens

CBCS:

Not labeled: Cape Cod, Edenwald, Cleveland, Golden State, Mound City, Pinnacle Hill, Selkirk, Toronto
Comiclink: Fire Lake

I knew the guys that purchased the Pinnacle Hill collection. Local comic shop owners brothers. Sadly they both passed away shortly after the collection was sold.

Absolutely! This is exactly what I was looking for! This way, I know what to look for and hopefully it can help some others along the way.

I think I will, at some point, do a video series on as many of the pedigrees as I can and post it to YouTube. I have wanted to do a YouTube Channel for a while now - I have one video up, but its not comic related. But, I think this would be a fun one to do. It's kind of a niche area, but collectively with what we all know I can fill a void in the comic world by specializing in learning all I can on the pedigrees. I have the equipment to do it, but simply have not had the time yet between going back to school at my age and having small kids around doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Again, THANK YOU!! These are ones I am completely unfamiliar with. I have, of course, read the descriptions of the ones listed by CGC over and over again and have pieced together a few articles here and there to fill in more information. I want to learn all I can about them.

Was sold to different people at different times and the books are non-descript, impossible to tell if it's a Slobodian or not.

Wasn't there also a question about some secondary market books being slipped in with the original owner books as well?

@DrWatson Yes.

Also, the Gaines File Copies got switched. Some of the sets are not the original as some pulled the better books from the early sets and switched them with later number sets.

Just needed clarification on the "recognized" aspect, as that is a term usually used in conjunction with Pedigrees.
