Yes, I find Newton Rings bizarre. I also find it bizarre that people send them back to the company that sent them the Newton Rings to begin with all the while expecting different results on the return.

Not really. Some folks on this forum send stuff pack because the label omitted what they saw as important information and the case was fine. People are not always predictable.

This happens more often than some may realize. Kind of a head scratcher when it's a characters 1st appearance, gets a new costume or new powers etc... and that info doesn't make it onto the label.
I had to do it with CGC a few years ago for Magnificent Ms. Marvel # 5 2nd Print had an Homage cover with new costume. And the label said was legacy #. They did the right thing though. Sent a shipping label, fixed the labels and shipped them back to me within a couple of weeks for free.

I just saw Roy Thomas will be at the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con in September. Does anybody know his current signing rate for a raw sig? I would like to plan accordingly on how many books to bring.

Thanks in advance!

Why would a new grading service honor coas if they're trying to gain credibility and start off on the right foot in the slabbing industry?

**** image of egs slab removed by moderation ****

Are they just trying to make as much money as they can short term and know their business model will implode within a few years?

I’ve seen no attempts to gain credibility.

Perhaps they figure with enough “influencer” support their mere existence is sufficient to make $.

Based on some posts here, they’re near-term correct.

@flanders and @Davethebrave - Just a reminder that only CBCS and CGC slabs can be posted here, for any reason. Don’t go to the penalty box because of this crappy company. What I can’t figure out why anyone would use them when the owner/grader has had no real experience in grading comics other than for himself. Most people on this forum are probably more qualified than him.

I was editing their posts as you left this message. I don't think we have given a suspension for posting any slabs other than CBCS and CGC ones ... yet. Most people mistakenly post them without thinking. If it becomes a habit, or if someone is just being a jerk, there's a first time for everything.

I read the section on verification on their web site, it sounds like it still goes through their own verification process even if a COA is included.

"EGS is able to authenticate your signed comic books using our own proprietary authentication methods. We guarantee the authenticity of any signature on books we grade.

If your raw book is signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), we will honor the COA and authenticate the validity of the signature within our Expert Certified™ service parameters.

They say “net nothing” in two paragraphs. “Guarantee the authenticity of any signature on books we grade” is nonsensical. Are they saying they only grade books with authenticated signatures? That is the literal read.

Then they reference COA, noting they both “honor the COA” AND “authenticate the validity of the signature.” Ahem, what?

Just a bunch of imprecise BS that calls into question the professionalism and quality of their services overall.

Ok cool Thanks for the info.
I was just wondering because that would probably be the only way I could ever get tickets since they sell out pretty quick.

@Nearmint67 have you used their bags and boards? I see they have resealable bags for about half the price I get bcws for - good quality?

Their comic shippers are extremely cheap as well.
