New question:
What's the best membership level for CBCS in terms of bang for your buck?
I've looked at the graphic or chart on the website, but don't really get it.
I don't care if I'm dumb or not, I just want to understand what I'm buying, and not have to wait too long on my next grading submission.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
@MRmintastic the memberships were set up to be worth about the same as their coupon values. Like if you get two rapid books done using your silver coupons you paid $150 for $162 worth of grading, and before the price increase three fast passes and two 2-Day was worth about $100. So I recommend getting the membership where you'll use the coupons. Now that they've raised the price of 2-Days and fast passes, the bronze membership is actually a solid deal ($135 worth of stuff at member price for $100).

If you aren't going to use the coupons, the general book discount is the same for all levels so get the bronze because it's cheapest. If you aren't going to use the coupons and you aren't going to send enough books to make the membership worthwhile, don't get a membership. You don't need one to send books.

What are your thoughts on sending both of these in for the Steranko signing?

https://www.cbcscomics.com/signing-event

It would cost about $180 for the signing and grading and both of these are for my personal collection:

@flanders Those are two of the covers I had Steranko sign back in Jan 2020. I personally would consider trying to pick up another set of raw copies to have him sign instead of cracking those. Not so much for the Shield #2 but for the Cap 110 I would not crack that book.

fyi, membership is not applicable through CBCS Canada
Right now I only use CBCS Canada for personal collection books - but I send straight to Dallas with physical pickup in Oakville - not sure how the hell that will work - haven't had one come back yet this way!!

If I know all books will be sold I send using CBCS US with physical pickup in Dallas by MCS

@flanders both great books!!!
I would really love to do an in person with Steranko again but it's not looking good for any time soon - and he's not getting any younger!

Only sending my King Size Hulk for him to sign - this guy needs a companion!

Why does CBCS only have signing events??
They have original artwork too - now sure for now it would be limited to comic size but soon it will be magazine size yes?

Would love to have some backing boards or something with some art on them

Last year through CGC you had the option to get a Steranko sketch in their art slab - I just chose to get it raw so I can frame it some day

Both books are winners and great choices. If I had to pick one though, I'd choose a Nick Fury book as I believe Steranko is most closely related to that character.

I sent this in today for that signing.

How many people would you have to eat to be considered a cannibal?
OR...is it more of a frequency thing? I only eat turkey once a year (and sometimes not even that much)...does that mean I'm a turkeytarian?

If you stop eating people...are you still a cannibal? If I was vegetarian but now eat meat I don't think you would still call that person a vegetarian?

I think you'd need to make a habit out of it to have the label attached. I'm sure up in Canada getting stuck in a snowstorm is more of a possibility than for me in southern California but if you end up being the in next Donner party I wouldn't judge you for having to eat one of your friends or family members. I know if I was ever in a position where I was forced to eat human meat to survive, I'd prefer it in jerky form.

Reminds me of this bit from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World established that the vegan police come and take your powers away if you eat animal products three times, so I think you get a freebie or two.

I subbed some books for VSP and grading. The turn around time says that VSP is 2 weeks. Will I get notified in that time if they passed? or do I have to wait 25 weeks for the order to be completed?

I don't think I've ever been notified when/if they passed (never had a fail...yet) and that was before crazy TAT times

Did anybody try the new auction site that you tube personality Dave at comic book investment put up?

For the time being, zero fees and he pays by check or PayPal friends and family. I emailed asking about 1099 forms. I'll update when I get a response.

I looked at his store - shipping to Canada was wayyyy too much compared to other places soooooo....no more looking at the store!

I'm also 100% out of the loop but many prices seemed a bit much....not Chuck levels...but still not quite right for me

Honestly, I wouldn't buy from them, I'm looking at selling through them. If they take a 5% cut to consign a book, that's less than 1/2 of what ebay charges. If you do everything yourself, I think its completely free. (For the time being that is)

These are the same guys that are on Ebay. I've bought several books directly from them. They are in San Diego and we would meet up in person. Some of their prices are aggressive, some were the best I could find when we deducted 10% for direct purchase.

Looks like it is a no go unless something changes really soon.....

Below is response...

Hi
While the magazine cases are almost here, I unfortunately do not have pricing or a way to invoice you for them until they are launched.
