If you have more pictures of the book including the front, there are some people on here who could help you with a grade estimate.

That doesn’t look like a spine roll. The pages opposite the spine seem to line up pretty well. Many comics, especially Marvel’s from the 1960’s, had mis-cut covers. This results in a mis-wrapped cover where some of the front cover artwork ends up folded over onto the back cover, or vice-versa (think white stripe along spine). The bad news is that it cannot be pressed out (your page edges wouldn’t line up). The good news is that this case is relatively minor and will not affect the grade of the book. There are much worse mis-wraps out there. In the real extreme ones the MARVEL becomes “ARVEL” and the price looks like 2-cents.

Yeah, that's a miswrap. Reminds me of an X-Men 24.

Misaligned covers are very commonly misidentified as spine roll. If a book appears to be flat and not handled or read you have a misaligned cover. As mentioned this was VERY, VERY common before the later 1990's. Spine roll comes from handling a reading and is usually accompanied by wear that obviously shows the book was handed and read a lot. The spine often will not sit flat or be very tight and the leading pages will be fanned out like the example above. Before the 10 point scale miswraps would count against the grade now, depending on the era and severity they are not weighted as much .... either rightly or wrongly. It's all a part of the infamous and ridiculous sliding scale that third party graders use. Selling a book like this raw most people would count this against the grade once in a slab the weight drops consirably but it may not sell as fast if put beside another copy in similar condition but without the miswrap. |

originally when I noticed the issues I had that had it....thought maybe they were pressed or a printing issue as the cover was alligned with the pages. the ones I noticed the back partially shows up on the cover.
