What Are You Watching?: Part II16640

Wife and I have been watching Vice Principals and The Righteous Gemstones. Really enjoy Danny McBride comedies even though I can't get my wife into Eastbound And Down.

The Righteous Gemstones season 2 seems pretty promising the first two episodes were really good.

Watched the 3 episodes of Peacemaker on HBO. Basically it's a parody of The Punisher I think. It's total comedy with crude vulgar humor. I think it's the best so far of the HBO/WB DC television stuff. Now that I think about it, it's very similar to Deadpool, style and quality-wise.

I just downloaded the first 3 to watch tonight. I really like the last Suicide Squad iteration, so I've got high hopes. The older I get the less I like 'crude' humor unless it's necessary, but i love me some violence.

Have the season 3 of Doom Patrol to get through too.

Anyone know if there's going to be a new season of "Umbrella Academy?" Now THERE is a class act. Every second of that show is fantastic.

They've said season 3 will come out in 2022 but I haven't seen any dates or previews yet.

Ed Gein Documentary (what a sick, twisted individual). Inspiration for Norman Bates, Leatherface and Buffalo Bill.

@GAC if that stuff intrigues you, you need to pick up a copy of this graphic novel!! I recently posted about it in the "What comic books have you read today?" thread.

Last night on Disney Plus I came across the animated "Wolverine and the X-Men" from 2009. I got hooked, probably watched 4 or 5 episodes. I might go back for more tonight. If you can get past the top-heavy artwork...it's pretty good.

Whilst "working" from home today, I started Kevin Can F Himself. Two episodes in. It blends sitcom and dramatic. The sitcom elements have a much lighter tone with a laugh track, while the dramatic elements are definitely much more serious. It's interesting through two episodes so far.

I'm halfway through Shazam as well. I like so far.

@Davethebrave me too. Was very pleased late last night to see that episode 4 was out. I skipped the intro dance scene in episode 2 and 3 but I don't think I'm going to skip it anymore. It's part of the fun.

I made it through 6 episodes and I'm already sick of this show.

I decided to continue one of my favorite history shows:

Halfway into ‘Being The Ricardos’ on Prime. Great (so far) if you’re a fan of Sorkin’s style.

I was hesitant about Kidman as Lucille Ball, but she is great in the role. Bardem, is a little less convincing as Desi Arnaz. Just my two cents.

Struggling to stay awake last night watching Hawkeye. I have just episode 6 left to finish it off. I have fallen asleep twice now trying to watch it.

I watched the original Planet of the Apes earlier last night with the surround sound on. Love the Jerry Goldsmith music in it. I must have seen it about 20 times over the years. Fyi. All the original movies are on HBO until the end of this month. It is hard to believe that these movies ended up with a G rating. You have partial nudity, killings, and torture.

@flanders the coffee shop scene with the owner was satisfying to watch “Oh you thought I did that for blah blah. No I did it because of blah blah”

Also if you guys like to watch murder docuseries, then watch “Don’t f#&k With Cats”.
