Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user
@MrESauce - Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, between the pandemic, cgc raising prices, and massive amount of comic speculation, CBCS has been absolutely slammed this year and each month, they have been receiving substantial record amounts of new submissions with each month breaking the previous months record.

It has not at all been uncommon for the confirmations of receipt by CBCS to take several months. They have been hiring on the Cust serv side and other departments. Just be patient.

Cheers.

I don't want to brag, but cashiers are always checking me out. power_struggle55 private msg quote post Address this user
I knew what I was getting into when I submitted. knew it would take a while. was told less then 2 weeks when got confirmation. was a month but not surprised and fine with it.

there are a lot of us on this board. if we alone send in stuff around the same time....theyd be swamped. I know there will be a long wait till they get to my submission (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #9 virgin villain variant) but i know....im sure there are better comics to be graded

This never used to be a problem.

It used to be I could send a stack of books and I would see them showing as received and my CCard would be charged. It might take a months for the books to be graded but I would know they got them and they were paid.

I dont know when the issues started because I sent in very few books in 2020 but the 2 orders I sent in 2021 both took months for me to actually be charged.
This new practice causes 2 problems:

1) without some acknowledgement that an order has been received and undamaged there is no way for a sender/customer to know if they need to make any kind of claim with the post office, Fedex, USP or whoever they shipped with. 2 months later is 2 months to late.
2) I know there are planty of people that send in more books then me but my orders are generally $300-500 and pre-Covid I would have 5 or 6 orders a year. I suspect most people would agree that having 2 or 3 orders of $X00 each with charges floating out there never know when they will decide to process the payment is a really dangerous thing. What happens when some new process allows them to triple the number of books graded and they process 3 orders from someone int he same week that were sent in months apart? Someone's bank account is going to get wrecked.

This is a problem and needs to be fixed.
Im not complaining about turn around time. that is what it is, but CBCS has an obligation to acknowledge an order has been received and charge the customer for it so they are not left hanging with a bill over their head and no idea when its going to drop.

Thank you sir. May I have another? Siggy private msg quote post Address this user
And no one can go home until every package delivered daily is checked for damage and processed.

I imagine their workload has increased by a huge factor, and that affects everything, not just TaTs. Kind of like ordering a pizza at 11am on a Wed in June vs ordering one at 6pm on a Monday in November. It's gonna take a little longer for the Monday pie.

@Siggy - I think it’s more like ordering a pizza about a half hour before halftime, during the Superbowl.

Honestly it just surprises me how many people post and are completely fine with the process. There are so many things that could be done to streamline their process and make it more user friendly while also saving their employees time and headaches and limit lost packages etc.

@Sebastsk8 I don't know that it's so much being "completely fine with the process" as some people have been using CBCS for a while and trust that their books will get back to them. Plenty of those same people have suggestions for how things could be better, but the number of new(er) customers winging complaints into the forum is larger, or at least louder.

As to this particular problem, I doubt they're going back to old orders and applying it, and I don't know if it applies to convention orders, but CBCS did actually make an attempt to address it: https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/16458/page/1/staging-queue-email/
