Hi all, Reaching out for some grading advice. I have a JIM 83 with a split first wrap (i.e first and last pages are both loose in the book). Any idea of the grade hit for this type of defect? The rest of the book is in good shape and presents in the 4.0 range. Thanks in advance for sharing the wisdom and Happy Holidays! |

Mr. Borock what an honor! Of course, I should have included pictures with my original post. I’m away visiting family for the holidays so I do t have the book with me but have a few images on my phone that I’ve attached below. Pages from the 1st wrap were reattached to the book with tape that was later removed….

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. | xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
I had a book with a detached centerfold, I think it came back 4.0. It was in pretty good shape otherwise though. With that tape and whatnot I'm not sure what you would max out at.

No matter the grade, that book should present really well in a slab. If I had to guess a grade, I am in the 2.0 to 2.5 range.

I don't believe this....and I know you don't care that I don't believe this. | GAC private msg quote post Address this user
I'd get it Pressed to. If the book is structurally sound enough to withstand Pressing then that spine roll should be able to be corrected.

Thank you all for the valued feedback. I’m definitely going to have the book pressed before sending it into CBCS for grading/slabbing. I look forward to sharing the results when I get the book back.
