@Nuffsaid111 @eee91 Saw a thread from a couple years ago on obscure signatures- I just got my first Don Heck signed book -same book eee91 had posted and even dated same year- (Marvel Milestone TOS 39 reprint) and signature looks identical to that VSP of his- But also mine adds Gene Colan to the front cover with red sharpie- I think it looks legit too- thoughts? Will be sending in soon to get VSP slab- |

I purchased these directly from Don Heck in early 1994. So the timeframe would be consistent with his signature being that yours is also 1994. The "D" is a little different in "Don". But he may have just went with the script signature that day on the Marvel Milestone. Colan appears to have wanted to wedge in his entire signature within the frame/border of the cover of the comic. Although the signature looks off, I think it looks off simply because of the framing within the borders. It's almost squished in. I'd send in for VSP and if it passes - Great! If not, there's a box to have them return the book and not grade. I think you just loose shipping fees back and forth but not sure. It's worth it for these 2 legends. |

Very kind words...I bid and won this in an auction a while back...it was stated as coming with a Mycomicshop written note of authentication for the book, so I thought okay so they witnessed the signing..but when it came the authentication was for Roy Thomas and not the deceased, sadly, Luckily both men signed in such a unique way its fairly easy to see that they are likely real |
