OT: Just For Fun, What’s Your Favorite Sitcom of All-Time?16493

Collector CatCovers private msg quote post Address this user
That's a tough, tough question.

There are classics I love, many already mentioned. And there have been some groundbreaking series mentioned as well, from Soap to All In the Family. A couple of British comedies have been genius.

Top three ... gun to my head ... not in any particular order other than alphabetical ...

Arrested Development

Man, the first two seasons of “Arrested Development” are special. I’ve watched those episodes countless times and I still catch jokes I’ve missed from time to time.

You do know that the new guy brings the donuts, right? DWeeB1967 private msg quote post Address this user
When I was a kid, I'd have said "The Munsters." I still like it but I can't say that it's my favorite nowadays.

If I had to name one out of all of them I'd probably say "All in the Family." To me, it still holds up really well.

After that, I'd list many of the sitcoms already mentioned by others: Soap, MASH, Seinfeld, The Big Bang Theory, Cheers... so many good ones over the decades.

Like everyone else, I find this is incredibly hard to narrow down. So, besides all the great ones mentioned so far, I'd like to add a few more that I watched quite regularly at one point or another.

Benson
Facts of Life
Malcolm in the middle
The odd couple
Happy days
Laverne and Shirley
Different strokes
Jeffersons
Sanford and son
That 70's show

Underrated and awesome show.

Maybe not underrated - been on for a long time… but still, awesome show.

As a child, I would have voted for Gilligan’s Island. We got the reruns on UHF.

As an adult, I would vote for Friends, and Taxi. Christopher Lloyd is amazing as Jim.

If this was a thread about comedy sketch shows, I would say Monty Python's Flying Circus was the best to air on TV.

Best ever: Gilligan's Island

Most hilarious: Married With Children, with a solid runner up of Sanford and Son.

The Jefforsons are pretty high up there too.

Oh, and don't forget Friends. I'm a basic bitch like that. 😆

As much as I loved Taxi, Cheers and The Office...

My all-time favorite is this one:

I can't believe I forgot "Just Shoot Me" and "Will & Grace"!!! I'd watch reruns of those now!!! "Dharma and Greg" was good the first few seasons, but somewhere along the line it lost it's appeal.
