CBCS has started a new process whereby when your books physically arrive at CBCS, Dallas, you receive a "staging queue" email. I would imagine that is basically all it means.

One of the largest questions, both here on the forum and on Facebook, is "how do I know CBCS got my package?" It would not surprise me if that was the reason behind MANY emails and phone calls!!! Perhaps even the main bulk of them. I'm sure that this system may take a bit for them to get caught up to speed and iron out all the bugs, so I wouldn't be alarmed if you have books delivered there tomorrow and don't receive the email right away.

The point, in my opinion, is that this (and the recent hire in customer service) is an affirmation of what I and many others have been saying all along, CBCS cares. They hear the complaints. They read the posts. They take action on that feedback. To me, that is the major difference between CBCS and CGC.

This is great to hear! I'd found CBCS to be very responsive in the past and I figured the current issues were going to be temporary, and I'm seeing this development as very positive. Someday we'll be back to having good customer service at CBCS, which will make me very happy.

I'm no fan of CGC but if we were being honest here, a bigger difference is that CGC has customer service that responds.
Always has.

Hopefully CBCS gets there too.
In literally every other area, I prefer them.

ill wait for as long as it needs to take. but not being told is what i hate. im aware grading takes a while....as long as there is some update

@Sigur_Ros - One of the top reasons I decided to no longer submit to cgc back in 2018 was their poor customer service and that in my experience I was there to serve them. Have never felt that with CBCS.

Okay. My experience has definitely been different but I wasn't submitting tons of books either. The issues I needed help with were not difficult and were addressed quickly. Buddies have had the same success. I'm at a 33% response rate with CBCS. But it's that high because I've only emailed 3 times.

Yeah, I have two lots in May that you're probably waiting on. There's a third, but that's getting pressed, so I'm looking at... next summer for that one?

I'm just happy they're sending an acknowledgement that the books were recieved. It is extremely stressful not knowing for certain after months go by. Sure FedEx says it was delivered and signed for but most of there drivers are under the influence... So thanks CBCS. Take all the time you need.

(If there are drivers on this forum, just joking fellas)

Good stuff! Just out of curiosity. Do they charge you when they receive the shipment, or after it’s put into queue and ‘officially received’?

For the most part, I've been charged when my submission gets unboxed and it's given the "processing" designation on my CBCS dashboard. If there are any charges associated with something like grade screening, then those charges come later, once the screening is finished, so they don't charge me an encapsulation fee for books that failed the screening.
