@Batman66 It's Otto Binder. and then it looks like one of his business cards was taped to the cover with a message that the book is signed inside! lol. For me it's not the signature so much as the whole package comes together as an interesting display piece. The great cover, the poor condition, the restoration, the business card taped to the front, the red label...visually it's one of my favorite books in my collection.

@Wyldchyld I have a bunch of Michael Turner sigs that I need to send in myself. Some of those same books, actually.

Question.. Would there be a market for verified Darwyn Cooke signatures?

Darwyn used to live in my city for a number of years (Halifax, NS, Canada)and he was best buds with my LCS owner, and I have a number of his books signed (e.g. New Frontier)

This will be my favorite if I ever get it verified. It's for my personal collection so I don't see the point at the moment and there's always the concern of a grade drop.

@flanders That Bone #1 is awesome!! One question: When you got it slabbed by The Other Guy, did you get it pressed first? If not, do that when/if you send it in for verification. Lessen the chance of a grade drop. Also, before you get it verified, try taking a photo and then change the green label to yellow and see how it looks. Right now, the green complements the red title, and that looks nice. A yellow label might make yellow elements of the cover pop, but would it be appealing as the green...?

@Byrdibyrd thanks. I paid a hefty price for this already slabbed but I've looked it over and agree with the grade. No idea if it's been pressed. There's other cbcs yellow labels that I've seen online and I think a cbcs holder with that color would be far better than the green.

That yellow label really does look nice. More of a gold than the canary yellow of The Other Guy's label.

Back in the days of snail mail, long before eBay and slabs, I bought the 1982 Overstreet Price Guide from Lone Star Comics (now known as My Comic Shop online). It cost me $9.95 for the soft cover edition, and as a promotion, Lone Star was including Daredevil issues #180-182 signed by the artist, Frank Miller, at no extra cost.

It took a month or so, but I received the Price Guide and the signed DD comics. I had already read my own copies, so the signed (and unsigned) books went into a long box for several decades, and I pretty much forgot about the signed copies. Then a few years ago, I noticed the signatures and sent those books to CBCS for verifying and slabbing (I did not have any of the books pressed). They all received Red labels. Also notice that Miller actually signed his name back then. Those really were great times to be a collector my friend.

Those DDs are really nice, especially for not being pressed and having been in the mail back in Ye Olden Dayes!

two of my favorite books in the collection. Mazzuchelli signed the DD in the early 90s for me at one of the NYC cons so I knew it was legit. Was waiting for an official Miller cbcs signing to add his sig, that happened a few years back. This may be the only official 9.8 with both sigs on this book.

Mazzuchelli is a very very difficult artist to get an autograph from. I was at that same show in NYC and I think one other that he attended. In attending cons for 35+ years I think those were the only 2 times I've met him.
Nice get!

Bad pic, I was wearing a red shirt while taking pics just for insurance purposes. Not the best grade, but saw this at a con in 2019 for less than it would cost for me to send one to grade +sig verifications on two sigs. Since Len and Bernie have both passed; figured I should go for it.

nvrmnd, had to find a better pic.
