I grabbed a few copies of DC Sampler #3 when they first came out. Unfortunately because I was a kid and on a very limited budget, the bag and boards that I packed them back in '84 in wound up going onto more valuable books...probably Rom #57.

As far as this debate goes, I have more copies of Swamp Thing #37 than the other two books, so I'm bias when I say Swamp Thing #37 is the book to get.

Same crap happened with Preacher and Absolute Vertigo. Previews are not first appearances.

They're not, but it's not stopping some of these books from getting decent money for them.

I can't believe these are $8-15 books now. They're definitely "bag worthy" now.

I didn’t even price check one. I was totally unaware of it and I’d like one no matter what any public opinions on the “appearance” goes.

Just reflexively jumped on the first sub-$200 BIN for Swamp Thing 37 to pop up in a good long while. I probably could’ve gotten one cheaper at auction or obo but I’ll live with my mistake. It’s a newsstand copy. Far from perfect but I’m hoping it pulls at least a 6.0 after a press…you know, in a year or two when things are hopefully under control

I guess this all kind of is in context with knowing that Bad robot, owned by JJ Abrams, was hired to create and produce a Dark Justice Series for Hbo, which would almost demand Constantine as a main character, depending what lineup is used for the team.

Aside from that , the last confirmed news from DC was that a big screen production of Zatanna, was in the makings. If that does produce fruit it would not seem unlikely they cross Constantine over into it. My own wish is they would go back to her original story, searching for her father, and build on that. Then through later story arcs they could introduce Constantine

Oh, and to answer your question...gocollect has zero 9.4 in sale history. The listed FMV for a 9.6 is $44 and for a 9.2 is $24. You got a great deal, but this isn't that much of a rip-off hit to the seller. The lowest prior sale in this grade in the past year was $26. These things occasionally happen, but based on the assumed value of the book ($30 range); I'd just keep it.
