@robertofredrico Yeah, you do everything right and sometimes it still happens. Newton rings are a risk whenever you have two dissimilar pieces of plastic next to each other.

Just chiming in on the case comparisons. I have many CGC cases with major newton ring oil slicks, most notably a Tomb of Dracula #1 5.5 that looks like it was lathered is butter before encapsulation. I'm thinking of cracking and submitting to cbcs. In my experience, not one book from cbcs has had similar issues. I'm definitely not a cbcs zealot...at lesst not yet but their cases rock. Crystal clear. Also not one cracked case. Just saying.. Although they're not without criticism and customer service should be improved yesterday, their case is top notch and nearly impervious. Recommended for the upcoming apocalypse. |

Pick one: 1. (Usually) higher resale value. Responsive customer service. Newton rings galore. Labeling issues galore. Cracked cases galore. Some cases unsealed. 2. (Usually) lower resale value. Unresponsive customer service. Strong cases with minimal issues. There you go. My choice is easy and clear. (Pun intended) I'd rather have a potentially lower sale with less stress than a few more bucks with a lot more stress, or potential stress at least. |

Of the points you listed, unresponsive customer service is the biggest negative for me ... and would cause me the most stress. |

We have hired some CS and CBCS will keep working on all issues that need fixing.

I haven't gotten a single CBCS slab back with Newton Rings. I can't say the same for CGC. That's not to say they don't exist, as someone said earlier - 2 dissimilar plastics always have that chance. But, the prevalence of the issue with CGC makes it a whole lot easier to call out. Not so much with CBCS.

It happens so infrequently with CBCS that it's really not an issue. I've never had a single newton ring issue with any of my hundreds of CBCS slabs...not the case with my much fewer CGC slabs.
