Has anyone gotten a recent shipment of books (without pressing)?
If so, what was the CBCS receipt date for your books?

Just trying to get a rough idea of which month 2021 books are starting to ship/deliver.

I've seen a facebook post stating an early June order was received recently. I'm expecting my early July order to be finished within 2 weeks.

- Mailed out May 24th, 2021
- Arrived on June 2nd, 2021
- Marked Received on July 2nd 2021
- Noticed it in Grading when clicking on the invoice number, and marked Labels on the Invoice PDF on Oct. 28, 2021 (not sure when it actually was marked to those, since I didn't check those until that date).

Hopefully sometime in the very near future, I will get those books back, but not holding my breath.

As of 12:57PM today, looks like my books have been graded, and now in the production area to be slabbed. No grades listed or any of that, but it's nice to finally have an update. Hopefully the books will be home soon.

As of this afternoon, my books have shipped and my dashboard has been updated with all my books and their grades (with the exception of one VSP that was rejected). Essentially, 7 months. Hopefully they are back safely sometime next week.

One of my orders was received towards the end of June, was given to CBCS at a convention in mid June, no pressing, standard grading, been in "Labels" for the past month or so, but I know they are in good hands, and will show up when they show up.

I'm waiting on an early June. I would recommend everyone lower their standards.

I don't have standards anymore. I'd go home with the lady that has back up beepers beeping when she leaves the cbcs parking lot.

Ah yes, because everyone lowering their standards with no accountability towards the company that may or may not promise certain timelines towards their product/service.

I'm fine with being patient since I'm still not certain how all this works(newbie here), but if everyone were patient, it just means the company can delay even longer if they want to.

@dartelum - when you go to your dashboard, and there is a balance due, you can click the icon and make payment.

For people who use CGC and/or frequent their boards: how do you find out where CGC is with grading? I see they have a TAT on their pricing page, but do you know if they're sending out stuff from June, etc?
Post 393 IP   flag post

@xkonk

I don't have subs they received at June but I had about 12 different subs last year total before June and received all within the stated TAT at the time they received them.
I'm waiting on 8 more subs but they're all August or later and still within the stated TAT.
I'm sure others may have different experiences but I sub about 15-20 times per year to CGC and always receive them back within the stated TAT at the time they received them which is why I'm so frustrated with CBCS. Had they said 31+ weeks and not 17, I would have planned differently. CBCS' website now says 25 weeks which we know isn't accurate either. They need to show a bit more consideration to their customers and at least try to be honest with "estimated" TATs. No one likes long TATs but not being honest about them is a lot worse IMO.

@xkonk

As far as figuring out where they are with grading, there's no way of going. They just go from scheduled for grading to grading and encapsulation to quality control and then shipped. The only consistently short phase is quality control which usually means they ship with 48 from that. The other two stages can take wildly different times.

@JustinMabooty do people wait until TAT time to request updates on the CGC forum or is it about the same as here?

@xkonk

I don't know. I've never had to go to their forums to get questions answered and I don't think they do that there. You can just call and talk to someone or email them if you have questions. Most businesses have ways for customers to communicate with them and don't rely on what appears to be community run forums to resolve and answer issues. The forum reliance here is pretty unprofessional IMO.
Forums for businesses are generally for the community to gather and share info, not usually places where the business disseminates information which is why I think a lot of people get irritated when they have to come ask questions on the forums here. People have legitimate concerns or questions and just get shit on by forum vets. It's not up to some random on the internet to decide if a new customer has a legitimate concern or not. It makes for a pretty unpleasant alienating experience.

While I don't believe this actually happens, I understand what you mean. But do you know why this may be? All that's offered is venom and vitriol and sometimes inaccurate and misplaced complaints to a company that is trying and a friend to our hobby. The "vets" also have submissions....many times big submissions...many times multiple, big submissions and are waiting patiently just like everyone else except not ripping apart the company they support.

It's not necessarily the message that's the issue but the manner and repetition in which its communicated that may irk the "vets".

We are all in this together...every last one of us.

@GAC

If you scroll up, you can see that I asked why a submission that takes 2 weeks is still referred to as a "2 day" and one of them explained to me what two days is. It's condescending stuff like that which is really unnecessary and just furthers arguments and tension. There's also a lot of dismissing of concerns by vets just because they've seen it all. Well the new person hasn't seen it before so dismissing them doesn't help anything.
I understand the desire to defend the company, but who cares? If you've got 30,000k upvotes on your comments and some brand new member with no history criticizes the company, ignore it. Chances are they'll be gone in a week or two or once they get their comics back anyway. Trying to go after every little comment seems petty and just further exacerbates the issue by having others chime in as well.
I think it would help a lot if the forums had designated community members to help and answer questions. They could have a title and/or avatar that expresses this so people know they can be listened to and trusted. If people are expected to come to the forums to find answers, this would help. Especially if there was a section just for this where only designated people could respond. Instead it's the Wild West where everyone weighs in from 10 year forum vets to brand new members when responding to a new member's question so it would be nice to know who to take seriously or not.
And the only one with a moderator title here that I've seen is the guy with the Mephisto avatar. It definitely doesn't express impartiality or professionalism.

....I think part of the issue too is yours and other vets approach that the company is "trying and a friend to the hobby." There's nothing wrong with feeling that way and I'm sure you and other vets have a lot of time with and affection for the company. This is a problem though if and when you expect others to feel the same way.
When it comes down to it, CBCS is a business and many others, especially new people to the company, will only see it this way. This view brings a lot more criticism and cynicism than the idea that they are friends. I'm sure a lot of people submitting are submitting as a business themselves and won't be as forgiving or nice when it comes to issues or concerns they have.

@JustinMabooty Your "2-Day" question was not sincere. It was passive-aggressive. The response was appropriate given the intent of your question.

Defending company: We're a community here of like minded individuals so its difficult to ignore newbies that come here for what appears to be the sole purpose of disruption and venting. We don't want them to necessarily be gone in a week or two we'd like them to be part of this in a contributing and positive way.

You're referring to @Jesse_O who is a huge asset to the forum and has helped tons of forum members (myself included) with issues regarding submissions etc, so with all due respect, you have no idea what you're talking about.

@GAC

Even a thoughtful critique and suggestions on how to improve customer experiences here in the forums is dismissed as me having no idea what I'm talking about. Thank you for proving my point.

And again, no one new to the forums knows that the person you're talking about is a valuable asset to the community. All they see is a moderator with a Mephisto avatar. Try looking at things from outside your own perspective for a moment and maybe you'll have a better understanding of what I'm saying.

In regards to the mephisto avatar being professional or not. It is a comic book avatar in a comic book forum. What matters is the person does their job and in this case he does it well. And I've even been suspended from the forums by this moderator.

If we were to judge folks by their avatars or usernames, yours I would be more offended by than mephisto.

@Bronte

Right. And I'm just some jackass random, not a moderator.

And this will be my last comment. The "2 day" question I asked wasn't passive-aggressive. It was a legitimate question and demonstrates how screwed up and insignificant CBCS feels the stated TATs are.

As an example, I subbed books in June to have back in time for Hawkeye, Cowboy Bebop and Book of Boba Fett. There was a 17 week stated TAT when I subbed them. I realize TATs are an estimate but if I had any idea they would be taking 32+ weeks, I'd have done a quicker tier.
While I understand that CBCS is swamped, my frustration is only compounded when I see that the current TAT on the website says 25 weeks when it clearly is not. It shows a lack of seriousness and consideration for their customers when they post obviously inaccurate info.

I have no qualms with your other arguments. I see and understand to a point the frustration you and others have.

However, in regards to the avatar, it is an expression of what he likes. It's like the color red. I'm not a fan. However it's their right to express themselves how they feel. If in the workplace said no red is allowed, that is ridiculous. While you may have some type of point in your posts, in MY OPINION, when you start pulling random stuff out of the air to try and solidify your point you literally are giving less credibility to your argument. As some might say, stick to the facts.
