mine are the same (no press, no sig verif, nothing extra - just grade and slab) & from the same time. Resigned to not checking statuses and only waiting for email updates.

I'm 30 weeks 3 days and counting on a modern grading only sub received on June 8th. I'm not sure why the website says 25 weeks for the TAT when that's obviously not close to being accurate.

The 25 weeks is the current tat, if I remember correctly Junes was longer and thats the one to count. Given the time elapsed I'd hazard a guess that you should get your books this or next month.

It was 16 weeks when I subbed in June. It wasn't raised to 25 until about 2-3 months ago.
You're the first person I've ever seen say that the TAT when subbed is accurate and not the current TAT on the website. It wouldn't make any sense IMO that June books are graded later than books received after them which is what you're suggesting.

For regular-speed (slowest speed?) books it's probably between the two. Someone sends in a book at TAT X, but then CBCS gets a ton of fast pass or faster-tier books, so the TAT slips to Y. The regular book gets skipped because of the incoming books that have to be turned around faster. It shouldn't take Y weeks to get the book done, because it was received before the TAT was changed to Y, but it will take longer than X. The TAT of X should account for a normal amount of faster books jumping the line, but TATs increase when submissions are bigger than expected.

In reality though, at least with all the books being sent in the last year, I would believe that books actually ended up at Y or longer.

Right. I understand that faster tier books would go in front of mine but it doesn't make sense that later received same tier books would cut in front of mine like he was saying.

@JustinMabooty I don't think the implication is that other books would get in front of yours. If your TAT in June was 25 weeks but they hire a bunch of graders and in July the TAT is 8 weeks, the July books don't skip the June books. The June books would be done faster than the estimated June TAT.

In any event, sorry that your books are running slow. Hope they finish up soon.

@JustinMabooty - No, that would not make sense and that is not how CBCS handles typical submissions of like tiers.

I have 4 submissions. June 3rd, June 4th, June 9th, June 14th. Summer of 2021. All have been "received". Only the June 9th one is "in grading". Why they skipped over the 1st two, I have no idea. I emailed asking about all of them a month ago. *crickets*

@david75090 Orders don’t go into grading strictly in a first in, first out order. They are worked on by different graders in chunks, which can throw things off. Also the tiers and services contained in each order will have an effect as well

@dielinfinite ...and likely the size (i.e. # of books in each submission) will impact the order of first in/first out

Order sent to CGC in mid-July... Still "Scheduled"
Order sent to CBCS in mid-July... Still "Received"

Not much of a difference yet so to make it interesting we started a pool. Closest guess to actual receive date in either case, without going over, takes the pot.

And now... we wait... some more.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day...

I’m at 29 weeks 4 days, I’m still overseas so I don’t really care about getting my books back. What I do want to know is the grades lol, just give me that so I can scratch this itch lol. All in all can’t wait to get them back and put up in the man cave. May all your turn around be quick

Once you have received the email that your books have been officially graded and are ready to be encapsulated, anyone know how long that typically takes?

No, books are normally updated to received in about two months. I would definitely send customer service an email with your invoice, the tracking number for your package and ask them to confirm that they have received it.

You likely won’t get a response right away. I suggest just resending it once a week until you hear back. Once you do they’ll probably say that they’ll look into it, after which you’ll probably have to email them once a week until they follow up with you.

I recently had something similar with a package of mine. I started to suspect something was wrong when orders delivered afterward were appearing as received. I contacted customer support and it took about nine weeks for them to say they’d found the order. That was about three weeks ago and I’m still waiting for it to show up as received.

@dartelum - Labels, Encapsulation, Shipping are some of the logjam areas, so it could be a couple of weeks to a couple of months.

I think it's safe to safe every step is a logjam. Mine were in labels for over 2 months and now they've been in HeatSeal for 3 1/2 weeks.

If this is true and its 8 weeks from that email then my order will be at 39 weeks delivered back to me from mailed May 27 2021 received by CBCS June 4 2021 no press all modern 2 VSP. Is that typical of this year anyone else finding it that off TAT? It was at 17 weeks when I sent in.

@dartelum Yes, everyone's TATs are slow this year. I got a modern with press order from the end of February in December. If you went through Oakville instead of direct to Dallas you have to add some extra shipping time on both sides, too.

I'm the same but with no VSP. No press, just modern grading tier which was around 17 weeks like you said at the time they were received.
Delivered June 8 which puts them at 31 weeks today.

Me and you are in the same boat. Same day delivered and just straight modern.
But mine doesn’t show heat seal.
