I see the last thread was locked. I spoke to someone at CBCS and they told me that if your status hasn't been updated from Submitted for more than 60 days then the order is considered lost. I hope this isn't true but the lady at the Oakville office told me this earlier today when I phoned.

As far as I know, the Oakville office is just a spot to mail books to in Canada. They just stockpile them until Paulus gets there to get them to Dallas. If you talked to Oakville, could they have been referring to packages sent to them to send to CBCS?

+1 844-384-4777 is the number I called. It's the one with the 2.4 star rating on Google, or did I call the wrong number?

I have seven orders at CBCS now, sent June through September, and in each case it was roughly 60 days after delivery confirmation that they opened the box and entered the order. As has been noted before this is the point at which they charge your card and the "great loan" begins. One way to avoid the "great loan" is to specify a minimum grade for each issue required for encapsulation. That way they don't know until grading how much to charge you, and when you see the charge appear on your card you'll know they're at grading regardless of what the web site says.

@Darryl_H I submitted 3 orders to CBCS Canada in Oakville for a total of 49 books. The first was sent August 4th, the second was sent August 16th and the third sent September 19th. All 3 orders are still just showing as "submitted." Not a single update or e-mail. One of them was even "Fastpass." CBCS has not even acknowledged to me that they have my books. Can you please give me an update as I am really starting to worry. I have not bothered CBCS and have been extremely patient recognizing that you are busy. That said, I bought my membership in good faith and to be perfectly honest- after four and a half months of absolutely nothing I am starting to feel deceived and cheated. @Darryl_H (or anybody) can you please help me?! |

So for modern submissions with no pressing or fast pass what’s everyone experience with TAT’s? Like how far outside of the TAT’s are people seeing? My submission was for 5 comics in June 2021. I can’t seem to get someone actually at the company on the phone. 21-22409A8 Is my order number. I was under the impression when I submitted that the turn around time of 16 weeks was my TAT, not the continuous extensions. Was hoping before I get stationed overseas I’d eat my books back, that didn’t happen and at home on leave and was hoping to get them back and I doubt I’ll see them either. I wasn’t aware they had a fast pass when I submitted at the convention or else I woulda paid for it.

It would help a lot if CBCS was more transparent and honest. I'm not saying they are being intentionally dishonest but we see the same questions and paranoia pop up on the forums over and over again which could easily be curbed if they were more forthcoming. There's no reason they can't put an update on their main page stating an estimate for at least entering received packages into the system, fix or at least explain the overly complicated way to check a sub's status which no one would know to do unless they visit the forums and various other similar concerns. You would think after the 100th time some of these questions were asked, someone would do something to resolve them. They should really dedicate someone to at least curbing some of the easily fixable issues that leads to people blindly posting and reading about multiple complaints of poor customer service on the forums. Forcing people to go to the forums for basic information that should be available to then be subjected to snarky forum vets that dismiss their concerns isn't good and just increases everyone's frustration level. |

With a little research one will learn that CBCS is back logged and customer service has its problems including sending notification emails. This does not translate to lost books. I've got two submissions with CBCS right now sent May and July with little notification. But because I've been here long enough and read the posts/threads, I know what's happening. Certainly look into a delay before concluding or suggesting lost books. I guess I'm old school that way. |
