How does CBCS handle Artist Remarks of cover16330

| I want to know how CBCS will grade a book with an artist Remark(small drawling) on the cover. I’m guessing they can’t verify it but will they reduce the grade? The book also has a signature that I would look to get verified Thanks Ex |

| If you do VSP, they will verify the signature only. They will note there is a sketch and it won’t effect the grade. They will not verify the sketch | ||

| what if the signature is not verified due to it being an unknown artist? how is that handled? anyone have an example? I want to send sketch covers in for vsp and grading |

| @schmoff If the signature is not verified then the signature and the remark would bring down the grade. In those cases with a lesser known artist perhaps consider an ART label so there is no grade. Just the book in a slab | ||

| @schmoff yes, when you put in the verification part of the form, there will be a box to the right where you can check if you want it encapsulated or not depending on if it passes verification. | ||

| @schmoff It looks the same as a regular blue label with the comic title and information but instead of a grade it says the word “ART” and it would say something like “name and sketch on cover” If you’re trying to verify and don’t want a grade, Slab-Only is a good option as well as it costs like $20 but includes verification for one signature, which would otherwise cost $25 on its own. The image below is using the old red label. All signed books, witnessed or verified, are now yellow  |
