Checked out a car museum yesterday on my road trip.

Love the lines and style on this black car and had to take a pic of the batmobile as well.

Reno? That Corsair prototype (earlier post) is probably a $5M+ car. Maybe much more. 1938 too.

My box returned from Dallas after two months and a lot of hiccups.....inside was my new project, the Texas Cheerleaders book, a cap, and my jacket and roughly 50 odd color prints....some wins in the box for me too. I had sent to Madeline Massingill, a former DCC who is part of the All-Stars or at least was last season, hard to say new season coming.First the book, something ive just begun ....then a hat I bought recently. Next up was the jacket, and she was the 54th girl to sign it. I also sent along some color prints ...While I was at it, I had included some prints in case her roomate was up for the job...Alexis Peterson, another All-Star. The items will be loaded into my display, the jacket placed in a jersey frame till summer, when it has another visit planned to Dallas to another former member...Shelly Roper Mccaslin.

That’s a great story.

Whoever the passenger was needs a “hold my beer” meme dedicated to them.

Okay, so now there are two lego sets I need to get…

This is an update from a post last year of a “quality” custom katana my wife got me. Because she wanted to keep it secret she bought one as-is. Her idea was for me to custom spec, which is what we did to excruciating detail.

So here is the completed one, with proportions that more closely replicate traditional blades, but with some modern adjustments. The scabbard (saya) was ordered in two colors (the other is black). Below shows the one for display.

Very happy with it!

May I ask how much something like that goes for? I have always been fascinated by swords and wanted to own an authentic sword but it seems I need to do a ton of homework before I can even hope to understand a real vs a fake blade.

On a different and slightly related note, I have been fortunate enough in some of my travels to have been able to attend a few sword-viewings in Japan. One was in 2018 at HonnĂ´-ji temple in KyĂ´to. HonnĂ´-ji is famous for being where Japanese warlord Oda Nobunaga was assassinated in 1582. Anyway, in 2018 they had a display of swords that belonged to Oda Nobunaga in their treasure hall. Below is the pilgrimage stamp I received after viewing the swords in the treasure hall. Note the double sword cartouche in red on the right. That is for the sword viewing. The pilgrimage stamp itself is available at any time at the temple if you know how to get one, but yours won't have that cartouche unless you were there during the sword-viewing event.

Was boarding some free comic book day books and got confused with this one. Apparently they are reverting to the Asian way of reading stuff.

Finally finished this bad boy. Now it’s time to set up the lights for the display. And tons of cleaning up the prints and scratches.
