Yeah EK components all around. Under full load with the fan cycle at about 40% GPU = 44C-111.2F GPU Mem = 72C-161.6F CPU = 41C-105.8F

My original copy of EP's 1956 TV Guide. His 1st appearance on the cover. Someone drew lines inside the TV Guide logo so I got it for a decent price. Otherwise it's a nice solid book. I am sort of developing an interest in collecting specific issues of TV Guide. 1st appearances and so forth.

Taken during the Hound Dog sessions. He did over 40 takes of that song. I have never seen a bootleg of all 40 takes.

But it's a neat cover and a significant snapshot in time. Plus he's still blond as well. Before "Love Me Tender". The articles says he is working on a movie tentatively called "The Reno Brothers".

Got my wife's ride detailed over the weekend and it looked so pretty I had to take a picture of it. Not bad for 17 years old and over 150,000 miles. The 11 miles-to-the-gallon keeps it pretty much sidelined these days. My dinged up Prius is the hero of the family now. Masculinity takes a holiday.

Another nice Animal Comics. Albert looks so happy. Just a nice relaxing image, a needed escape for many from the onslaught of WWII that was raging at the same time. It was on the newsstands right around when Germany surrendered, but before Japan did.

@esaravo nice!

Have my boat inflated and ready to go in my garage taking up a parking spot. Did that when it was 70 degrees and now it’s 25 today… looks like will be a while before catching fish.

@Davethebrave - The weather in New England is still unpredictable. It was breezy yesterday, with air temperatures near 60, and water temperatures in the mid-40’s. Today it got close to 50, there’s a chance of snow tonight, with expected highs in the 30-32 degree range tomorrow. Hopefully we’ll be back in the 50’s or 60’s again soon.

I’ve been in my house for around 25 years. It has a two-car attached garage. My truck has never been garaged, since my side has always had my boat on it! I have a handful of fishing buddies that all have boats. We try to go out every weekend starting sometime in March. This is the third weekend I have been able to go so far this season.

@RexMuff

My buddy had a cat who walked with her dogs every morning and night without a leash. The cat would do its business outside and didn't need a litter box.

Sadly that poor cat passed. As scared as I am of animals in general, that cat was very docile to me and understood that petting on my terms was only affection it ever got from me. I sincerely miss that cat.

@esaravo my boat barely qualifies as a boat. It was delivered by UPS to give you some indication… that said, it is good fun. Also a whole new experience with a battery-only setup.

Only for inland lakes. We were previously kayak or rental reliant…

What is it about animals that scares you?

This is cooler than a Bob Kane signature. Someone was telling a story about how Jerry Robinson was at a con sitting at a booth by himself. He was able to have a good and lengthy conversation with him.

Kids these days. No respect for history. Picked this up shortly before he passed. Legend.

This was an actual Weather Channel weather map a day before a storm was supposed to hit the East Coast where I live. It never did. It looked strikingly....familiar.

I added my own two cents to the map. I always thought a given coast would be attacked by Mothra or Gidrah. Not a boob the size of Africa. Look at it. All friendly and mollifying ...

I have always been spooked by people's pets. It didn't help matters when a German Shepard pounced on me and shredded my shirt and back .

I tend to stay far away from all animals as an adult. Granted the aforementioned cat and I got along but only because it was a traumatic circumstance that brought us together.

My buddy's next door neighbor kicked her cat and it was so bad he had to go to the emergency vet doctor. His insides were no longer in the proper places. He was in a crap load of pain and for some reason I put my hand out and he nuzzled it. Since then we had a mutual understanding for each other.

Any other friend that has animals, sense my fear and they stay away from me. And i stay away from them. For example, a buddy has a cat that supposedly likes everyone. That cat won't come within 5 feet of me. It's like it can sense my fear and stays away.

In theory I'm bigger than most animals so I could prolly kick them, but my instinct is to put my friend or another body between myself and the animal. If I go to a friend's house, the dogs need to be locked in another room or I won't visit.

Don't even get me started on the stupid ladies at work that fed ducks. I had to get HR involved because the ducks chased me.

@Bronte An animal attack can screw you up for a long, Long time. It is not funny when that kind of thing happens. I was bitten on the hand by a small dog when I worked at a boarding kennel, so it came with the territory and I knew right away that the dog was just scared and didn't know where the pet-parents were. An aggressive attack by a large dog is a completely different situation and deeply traumatic. I'm very sorry that happened to you.

It happens, I know my limitations and hope that others respect them. Some of my friends are like, it's a chihuahua or its a cat you are 10x larger than them wtf is your problem?

But if you really think about it what are your choices? Let the animal jump on you and trigger your past? Hit the animal and be less than human? You can't reason with a pet or animal.

The only thing I've tried so far to get over my fear is a "cat Cafe". No they don't serve you cats to eat. This is a place where cats go-to learn to socialize with humans. As a human you donate to the charity to help the cats get adopted.

Here is a cat I attempted to pet and he gave me the side eye because he didn't trust me....

Needless to say I didn't get very far that day. But it was weird how all the animals kept their distance from me even though there were like 5 cats in this small room....

@Bronte I've been to a couple of cat cafes in Japan, and while I'm a big cat lover, those kitties weren't my kitties and I had a tough time really interacting with them. They could totally sense that I was a little uncomfortable and kept their distance from me. It was a bit sad, actually. Still. I did like the experience.

I admire that you're trying to deal with the issue. That's great. If you want to try something again, you may want to see about kittens or puppies rather than adult cats or dogs. See if you have anyone in your area who fosters orphans. Seeing tiny babies being bottle-fed is not at all threatening.

You should see some of the crazy ones they have. Hedgehog cafe and miniature Shiba Inu cafe in Kyoto, Owl cafes in Tokyo and Nara, Otter cafe in Tokyo. It goes on & on. Goats, rabbits, mini-pigs, penguins, capybara, songbirds... you name it.
