It is an original piece of art. It has more significance than plenty of other art selling for many multiples of its price.

I am the first (and often last) to scream Marvel bubble - but at least this is a truly scarce (ie 1 of 1) piece.

Not saying I think $400k is right but if someone really likes Mr. Strange, good for β€˜em.

Love this Frank Brunner cover artwork!

By pure coincidence, I just received back from CBCS this week the following two slabs, including Doctor Strange #1 in very high grade! These two comics were purchased in raw form from a much larger west coast original owner collection being gradually sold by Lee's Comics. I submitted both of these for a Fast Press and Quickstream processing in July and just received them. So, this amounted to a 4-month turnaround time. Not too bad! The cleaning and pressing results obtained by Steve Ricketts and his team were just outstanding, very effectively removing a few minor, non color breaking creases. I couldn't be happier with the results!

A Marvel Spotlight 5 in 9.8 sold for over a quarter million. By comparison, this art should have sold for five billion dollars.

Crazy times we live in. I almost put a bid in the OA for Punisher War Journal #7 over the summer, but didn't feel like emptying my retirement accounts to own a single piece of paper.

I would have gladly sold any forum member's children to own this which sold last December.

This is beautiful. Not sure $300K beautiful, but man it's nice.

@dfoster43 I agree, but if there is only 1 it’s worth whatever you will pay. Apparently between 1/4 & 1/2 Mil is what they are worth. I thought a few thousand for an original Alex Ross was too muchπŸ˜‚πŸ˜’

Yep, no argument there. Value is in the eye of the beholder, among myriad other variables.
And I wouldn't mind that on my wall in glass alongside a dozen others like it
