Some years ago I bought Transformers #8 which was the first full appearance of the Dinobots. see people sell it for $200-$400 depending on grade.

i guess should find it (its in one of 10 bins) and get it graded. Paid I think $5-$10 for it

I sold mine off shortly before the value really started to climb. Oh well!

been going through all of my bins (8 that are the size of average boxes and 2 large ones). theyve been really disorganized. hard to find anything. so using an app to keep track whats in what bin. see if i need to find one. just look up and see what bin its in. then look.

Ill eventually find it. did 4 of the 8 smaller bings. probably in a big one.

Do you think that book is in really nice shape? If it's less than 9.0 it might not be worth pressing and grading currently. I have a copy that definitely is not worth putting through the machine.

it was in good shape at least that I can tell. was bagged and board when bought. pages and cover in tact. no folds, etc. I read it once, put it back in and bit in a bin. i just need to find out. assest the condition. but as a transformers fan will get graded still. i will likely never sell my valuable issues (especially ones that I like). grading lets me know on condition and gives it a nice display for $18 (+ shipping)

Got this back from CGC Over the summer. I also have a 9.8 direct copy (also CBCS) I paid less than $100 for a few years back.

Not sure which one to keep. 9.6 newsstand is likely more scarce than 9.8 directs…but market doesn’t reflect that in price.

There are a few issues in the run that command premium in high grade. A 9.8 direct #72 sold for $1500 last week.

@Drogio newsstand vs direct should be equivalent in mid 80s then newsstands start to drop off early 90s. Direct has a lower % mid-late 70s to early 80s

I had almost a full run of Transformers that I bought off the rack when I was a kid. I ended up donating all of them to a friend's nephew who was wanting to get into comics. I figured of everything I had, those would never be worth anything. Oh well.

i dont remember if newstand or not. got it at a convention. it was flavor of the month in a sense. each year at a convention i look for random issues (sometimes not so) from a certain series. each year varies. that was transformers. checked out a non bargain bin (i usually only look in those) and found it. did like dinobots and it appeared to be 1st appearance (know it was first full)

@HulkSmash but in high grade the newsstand should be harder to find. They were displayed and handled and typically stored differently...purchased by a different demographic.
