Sold my Marvel run, except a few #1’s but have the earlier Pacific Comics run. 1st thing I think about these days when such news comes out.
It could make a good George of the Jungle type cartoon.

That's awesome! Sergio Aragonés is 84 and the last I heard lives in Santa Barbara area. When I lived on the central coast in CA, I heard be would frequent the comic book stores there in Santa Barbara for signings.

Yes, he would. He is such a nice man. He came into the store where I worked all the time, would grab a stack of Groo's off the rack and sign them all. Wonderful guy. I kick myself for not having grabbed a nice, complete set of signed books.

Yep. Probably need to ask yourself, "Did I err?" Just looked and DD 1 is going through the roof. Think I'll hold on to mine for a while. I love me some Groo. I got rid of most of my original run years ago. They were extremely well read.

I started out as an Aragones fan with Mad Magazine when he would do the Mad Marginals.

I have thought the same thing. Not specifically Groo; Wally the Wizard comes to mind, but there is “cartoony” and there is a specific style that I can’t put a name on. I am an ok artist when I focus and put full effort into something; I guarantee if I draw Groo or Wally it would like hot garbage. Even “cartoony” can be good.

Nothing wrong with cartoony as a style! Look at so many classic comics that have that sort of style. Even Ditko had what could be called a cartoony style when compared to contemporaries like Kirby or Kubert, and he's one of the greats! Not to mention Carl Barks or Walt Kelly.

LOVE me some GROO!

The world needs more than ever needs more humor in it and if Groo doesn't give you at the very least, a light hearted chuckle, then there is simply no hope for you.

I always loved Sergio's detailed style. His Groo splash pages are Epic to say the least! You can look at them for what seems like hours and always see some little detail you missed.... its amazing!

Of coarse Groo's Wit and Wisdom always keeps you rolling and LOL!

Despite the nay sayers, I think Groo's humor will do surprisingly well, and Im looking forward to it much more than seeing Superman or Robin sucking dicks.

It's ok. I bought it $4 and it graded to a supposed 9.4 from the Crappy Grading Company. Additionally, it has no sentimental value to me so it was a win. My main thing is I work in an area that is no phones and eBay is blocked so it's harder to check and reprice things during business hours M-F. It wouldn't be the first time I under sold something and I'm sure it won't be the last.

I just know how things work out in Hollywood. Let's face facts, Groo is not a well known name. Neither is Aragonés. Are they going to do it on the level The Tick was? That was well done, but not overly well received. Baron and Rude have been trying to get a Nexus animated off the ground for years now and they are still waiting. That is a straight forward Action Adventure.

Now don't get me wrong, I love Aragonés' work. I met him at a KC con back in the 80s and he did a margin doodle in a Groo 1 for me. Free of charge. I wish I still had that book.

Came across this today. There are about 8 videos of Mark Evanier and Sergio Aragones about Groo.I've only watched the first two, but will watch the rest when I get time.
