Kill MCU Before It's too Late.

Debate. I haven't seen Kung Fu and don't plan to intentionally watch Eternals. Just thought it was neat to see the article. I didn't realize there were that many movies in the MCU.

Hard to imagine the next Scott Lange film isn't Wasp & The Antman: Quantumania.

Telling a story is no longer their main goal. I've lost interest. Silver, Bronze, and some Copper Comics have what I love about the Super Heroes that interest me, and they stay the same- Nothing about today's insane world can change them.

“Please kill the Marvel Cinematic Universe before it’s too late”.

In the movie business, as long as it’s making money, it’s not too late.

There are untouched storylines and characters galore in comic books, and CGI is so good now, it captures some of the comic book magic.
If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. I don’t like chic flicks, there must be a trillion of those with exactly the same plot. And what about TV shows? How many CSI’s are there? 802 episodes so far. I proudly have never seen more than a couple of minutes, accidentally.
I do hope Eternals is actually good.

Some quotes:

"....maniac Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige’s...."
".....for the Evil Little Mouse...."
"....Chloé Zhao’s movie holds a mere 53 percent on RottenTomatoes" - like who really gives a rats @ss

I tune out from movie reviews that involve nonsense and name calling.
I understand the point the guy is making (get out when you're at the top), but he kinda makes an ass of himself on his delivery for sure.

Lastly, I will say I saw Eternals last night and really liked it. So much for 53% Rotten crappy tomatoes

Money is votes. As long as people keep going and spending, Marvel will continue to make them. People are obviously enjoying these films.

Reviews are odd....some i buy but others not so much. I really like the Vin Diesel Riddick movies...most reviews at the time were quite bad though.
Eternals I think was always going to be a hard sell....were never meant to be part of the greater MCU add to that the first movie is a team movie with many characters vs a small tight group like Guardians...just tough...will go see it but i have low expectations

I used to read and pay attention to critics for music and movies. I've stopped doing that a long time ago.

Critics.

Easiest case for the limited usefulness of most critics is Robert Christgau. If you aren’t familiar, he was the music critic for the Village Voice for decades. Held up (by many critics lol) as the epitome of their ilk.

Inane, faux-intellectual drivel. I use (overuse) “drivel” a lot, but if ever there was an apt application of that word, it is for his criticism.

I will admit to using critical reviews (though only looking for extremes) to -guide- what I -may- enjoy. A filter of sorts. Extremely bad reviews and extremely good reviews are often indicative but not always.

More on topic, I think MCU film quality has been going downhill ever since Infinity War. Some of the okay-to-better films were massively overrated (Black Panther especially). I think the ever-expanding MCU related projects may do more harm to comics than good, if only by over exposure.

Having one good pizza a month can be a treat. Maybe not enough for some. A pizza a week, still something delicious to look forward to. One every few days, you can mix up the toppings and style but I think starting to feel a bit mundane. A pizza every week night… getting gassy. Every day, salt coma. Every meal, MCU.

If the pizzas also start coming out of the oven soggy, saltless, or with a bit too much PC sprinkled on, even kale starts to look appealing.

The above criticism is, of course, useless.

I mean it’s rotten tomatoes. Look at the new 4400, they gave it 80% and the audience gave it 15%. I couldn’t watch 3/4 of that show and I loved the original. If you saw the Eternals and you like it, then rotten can kiss it. They used to be cool.

I saw Eternals last night. I could see why people might be underwhelmed. I don't think it did the best job of it, but I thought it was a "big questions" story kind of like Jupiter's Legacy (which people also sort of disliked). But I liked it overall.

I also saw Eternals last night. I've always enjoyed ancient aliens, origins of life type of sci-fi stories.,.the big questions as you say. The film is not without flaws but I did enjoy the movie alot. The visuals were great in my opinion. It opens up the MCU to cosmic stories more than any other previous film.

There are two mid-credit scenes so make sure to stay for those.
