While GoCollect's new search function still stinks, I have found a way to access the old tables for grades/values. Look for an unassuming button called "Launch the RVI Modeler" and click it. A window will open on the left with the following 'helpful' dropdowns: 'Lookback Window' and 'Model from-' 'through.' The 'Lookback Window' (think: Wayback Machine) will give you a number of days past, and the 'Model' windows will let you select a range of grades. The RVI Modeler will then produce the same list of grades/values that old GoCollect used to have. I'm trying to think of a way they could have made this less intuitive, but I'm drawing a complete blank. Seriously, GC, you couldn't have just put in a 'Legacy GoCollect' button or something? ![]() The RVI Modeler -- Really? How are we supposed to figure this out? ![]() ![]() |

Any idea what the "grade" with the up/down arrows above the "Launch the RVI Modeler" is?

That will expand the list of grades on-screen to include all grades, and not just the ones that have had a recent sale (so it looks kinda like old GC, but without all the information).

Ah, that is what that was. I was playing around with it, but was looking for a “classic view” button to revert to the whole look and feel.

Where is the RVI modeler button? Maybe it isn’t available without a paid subscription?

It's beyond me why they make things so difficult and not more intuitive. I don't think the average Joe knows what "RVI Modeler" is or what it does. BTW, what the hell does it mean anyway LOL!? Early on I sent a msg to them asking if they would have a legacy version of the page but all I got was the standard reply of, "We apologize for any inconvenience you are currently experiencing. We are open to any feedback you may have for us so that we can make your experience better. Please direct inquiries and issues to help@gocollect.com and we’ll have our team take a look into your suggestions." |

Here it is... What is an RVI model? As used here, a Relative Value Index (or RVI) describes the relative value of the same comic across multiple grades. By establishing an index of relative values, we can then extrapolate the current value of a given grade using known sales from other grades in the index. The index that gets created is then used as a model the GoCollect system will use to automatically update values for this comic in real-time as new sales are discovered and recorded. |
