New Mutants Annual #2 (Just Back From CBCS) SELL / HOLD?15728

OK guys!

Just got this book back from CBCS!

I was glad to see that the cases(Slabs) on this order were Super Nice, unlike my previous order where the slabs had those horizontal production line marks on them.

Just goes to show that when CBCS takes the time for some quality control on their product there's no nicer slab in the hobby today.

As for the book itself? Well just cast your eyes on this Newsstand beauty I pulled from the stands over 35 years ago!

Other than its beautiful condition I really have no other attachment to the book so it will be listed in my hipcomic store.

I will also have it listed on Ebay as well.

I couldn't find any listings for the Newsstand version, but it looks as though the direct version has sold in the $900 - $1200 range.

Im going to see if I can once again disprove the myth that CBCS books sell for less than CGC

Im in no hurry to sell it, so Im going to doing some fishing at $1500

Any words of wisdom from the board?

I'd like to say I still turned out alright, but that would be a lie. flanders private msg quote post Address this user
That is a massive dropoff to a 9.6 grade. I see a CGC 9.8 newsstand listing for $2000 so maybe you should list at $1850. $1500 might be a bit low, looking forward to seeing you sell it for an insane amount of money.

That is a gorgeous book, and newsstand, too! Somebody will snap that up as soon as rumours of possible upcoming MCU Psylocke get confirmed.

@flanders

I guess I did see that one newsstand listed at $2000, but I didn't really take that one seriously. It also has not sold

I thought $1500 was an insane price, and your telling me thats to low?

Im just baffled that these comic books can command these kind of prices.

Well..... In my quest to disprove that CGC always sells for a premium over CBCS I'll just have to list my CBCS book at $2001 LOL!

Im just super happy how flawless the CBCS cases were on this order. I know some people don't care about the condition of the slabs, but by golly I do. It just gives it that museum quality look. Kind of like the difference between a dirty ole Poly Bag and a New crystal clear mylar.

So a movie appearance is just speculation at this time?

As far as I know. Haven't seen anything concrete yet.

As for prices on New Mutants Annual #2 in 9.8, I've seen at least 3 sales of direct editions recently, all in the $900 ~ $1,000+ range. Earlier this year they were around $600 ~ $800, so the value seems to still be climbing. Who knows. Maybe it'll get to $1,500 by the end of the year, or once we get an official announcement that Psylocke will be in the MCU, rather than just an appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse. I've been watching my copy of Tomb of Dracula #10 (in 9.0) go places I never imagined it'd go. I just wish it was a 9.8 like your New Mutants Annual!

I definitely wouldn't reject an offer that high. I think it's too low for a list price relative to the only other copy I see available.

Sounds logical.. Besides I can't have that CGC book selling for more
