Current Receiving Time15712

Maybe they just like me better. Nah, that's not it. BPaxson002 private msg quote post Address this user
Greetings all!

While I understand the situation in dealing with wait times for our submissions, I was wondering if anyone knew the current (9/10/21) wait times for CBCS to receiving submissions into the line.

I know things are slow and knew that when I sent my books in, but I do not see a listing for how long it takes to get started in the system.

Please forgive the newbie question, but this is my first CBCS submission and have no experience on how their system works.

Thanks!

I think it varies for lord knows what reasons.

I submitted 1 book from TerrifiCon which ended August 1st and it is still not in the system (Dashboard).
So that's .... what... closing in on 6 weeks and still running.

Other times I've submitted and seen my dashboard updated within 1.5 - 2 weeks.

The good news is I do think the TAT clock starts upon receipt of submission regardless of when it actually appears on your dashboard. I could be wrong there but that's what I've read a bunch of times on here.

I'd like to say I still turned out alright, but that would be a lie. flanders private msg quote post Address this user
It was 6 weeks for my July 6th submission. I'm assuming there's even more volume now so I'd give it up to 8 weeks.

I'm new here, but I saw this on the main CBCS page if it helps:

@Whynotv2 Thank you, but that does not give an estimate of when CBCS taking possession of the books from USPS to being marked as "Received"

@flanders @Nuffsaid111

Thank you for your input!

I am not overly worried about the time, as my books would only be lounging in my collection anyway. Having worked, for 14 years, in an industry much like what CBCS/CGC does and kinda interested in how the workflow goes here.

My understanding is that CBCS uses two systems that are meant to run in parallel; and internal system and a client-facing system.

All orders should be added to the internal system shortly after they are received. This is why CBCS has stated that despite them not showing up on the client-side, orders are still expected within the turnaround time beginning when they were received.

Unfortunately what we have seen is a major breakdown in updating the client-side system, which leaves orders showing as “Submitted” often for months after the order is received.

As to why some orders get updated and others not is a bit of a mystery.

My order delivered on May 20th still does not show as received

Wow - I understand delays.... even unreasonable delays. But at this point, why even bother to update the dashboard. In another month you'll have your order in your hands.

quick question but when does the submission times ever start to come down to a more reasonable weeks.
is it after convention season. it just seems like its always about 6 weeks on my last 3 submissions.

i am guessing the slow period for them must be the winter

there has been a massive increase in submissions overall. From people moving from CGC, more demand from the hobby and simply more submissions from “current” customers.

your TAT starts the day they are delivered regardless of being marked as received on the dash board. My April sub was “processing” for a few weeks, then “received” for nearly the entirety of its stay at CBCS. My TAT was on par which can only mean my sub was moving as it should.

They're apparently doing on-site grading at FanExpo in Dallas, so nothing will be going any more quickly for those few days at least.
