Wondering if anyone could help and give an update on my order 21-17AB0BB. These books were submitted at a con the weekend of April 9th and from what I remember reading should have been delivered the Wednesday after, which would be April 14th. My invoice though says April 28th. Regardless, if it was truly submitted on the 14th, then I am looking at 20 weeks with over half that time in labels. If the 28th, I'm looking at 18 weeks, with around 10 weeks of that time being in labels. I know these are unprecedented times, but I'm beginning to get anxious.... |

@jsrtt Your books are fine. Books are spending a long time in grading/labels as they wait to be slabbed. Once you get an email saying that they have moved to encapsulation then the books are only a few days away from being shipped. Can’t say when that will be but if your books are in the system then they’re fine. FYI, when you submit books at a show they won’t necessarily be received (read: show up in the system) by the Wednesday after the show but for the purposes of calculating turnaround time, the start date is the Wednesday after the show |

@jsrtt I wouldn't worry at this point, it seems your almost due for shipping from your timeline. One thing I do to stave off book uncertainty is that I send 2 groups of books bi weekly using fast pass/press every month so that I now receive a shipment from CBCS pretty often. It tells me the wheels are turning and reassures me that despite long tat I'll get my books back and in better shape than I sent them. |

I sent mine in on April 21, 2021. Modern grading, no fast pass, no pressing...I've been sitting in "processing" since May 14th. Come on CBCS, I know there's been a crazy influx into your company but why the hell are my books taking so damn long?

Quote:Originally Posted by EvolutionOfEvil @EvolutionOfEvil Was that the date they were delivered to CBCS or the date you filled out the submission form online? I believe back then the posted turnaround time was 15 weeks so your books should've been completed by now if delivered on 4/21. Maybe there's been an increase in 2 day modern submissions that are given priority and that's pushing the other tiers back. Maybe, after clicking on your order in the dashboard you can download the invoice again. Sometimes the information is more up to date when you do that. |

Here's my situation and it's incredibly frustrating. I have an order that has been ready to pick up since July 2nd. I have been unable to get an appointment because I can't get anyone at CBCS to return my call. I have left numerous messages for Darryl (who received my books when I dropped them off) and sent numerous emails. None of the emails have been responded to. Again, to be clear. My books are listed as READY TO PICK UP. My order has been invoiced and paid. The 800 number for CBCS/Beckett is operated by an offshore call center. I spoke to a Stacey B who said she would help me. A week later when I called back, she is "no longer with the company". I have now been through numerous representatives who have promised me an appointment and then never call back. I have been told in a forum message by Steve Borock (28 days ago) that he will "take care of me". He hasn't and I still haven't been taken care of. I am a Dallas resident who lives less than a half hour away from the facility. For anyone who thinks this is an exaggeration I can happily update this post with pictures of the emails sent, the names of the folks I talked to. This isn't a postal problem. This is a CBCS problem. I'm concerned and you should be also. |

@dbpro Sorry to hear that. It hasn't been my experience at all. Also a Dallas resident and prefer to pick up my books. Darryl usually responds within an hour to an email about a pickup. I could maybe do with a wider array of options for pickup times, but haven't had an issue getting in touch with them.

@CatCovers I would be happy to pick up anytime. Have you been able to pick up anything recently? I find it interesting that you see CBCS people responding to posts on this forum but they can't send an email to schedule a pickup time. Or even an email or phone call to explain why they can't schedule a pickup time. CBCS is currently holding the heart of my collection of 40 years. There's a copy of Strange Tales 110 that I bought with first real paycheck I received after graduating from college. There's a copy of Fantastic Four #2 that my wife bought me for a birthday present over a decade ago. These aren't just books I'm planning to sell, they are memories that I made the difficult choice to trust to strangers for the first time ever. This is a company that advertises itself as "for collectors". In my experience this isn't how collectors or lovers of the hobby behave. This frankly sucks. |

@Nearmint67 The order will say Processing almost the entire time the books are at CBCS. The Grading/Labels/Etc status are per tier and are on your dashboard, per the instructions on the Newbie’s Guide

Quote:Originally Posted by dielinfinite Yeah, I am aware of where the status are located on my dashboard. All of my submissions are the same tier. When I submitted and printed the invoice to mail with the books, the dashboard says submitted. Then when (and if) you receive the email notification that your books have been received, the dashboard is suppose to update to say Received. And then you are suppose to get updated emails for each step as shown in the link you provided; (If you click on invoice, you will see a list of books on the order divided by tier. At the top of each tier you will have a status specific to that tier. When the invoice is initially created these statuses will all read "Submitted." Once the books are received, these statuses will change to "Received." Tiers will remain in this status until they enter the "Grading" status at which point you should receive another email indicating the status change and will receive additional emails for subsequent status changes. After grading comes "Shipping" when the books are preparing to ship and "Complete" once the books have left CBCS.)bold text But this has not been the case for the past several submissions I have sent in since last year. They go to processing until they say shipped. A few years ago, when things were not so hectic, no covid and fewer members here at CBCS submitting books, we got the emailed updated notifications and the dashboards changed as the books migrated through the system as it was designed to do. Too many books in que and too few people processing the information has left most people with either submitted or processing. A few folks get "grading" or "shipping" updates, but not everyone. No worries though, My buddy (Secret Agent Man --- Long Hair) has it under control. Nothing like opening that box of CBCS graded books and seeing my Bronze Age Beauties popin' off at 9.6 & 9.8.... Woohoo...Yeehaw... Cutn'loose again...lol.... |

The email notifications have been hit-and-miss but aside from the monstrous delays we are seeing the system is pretty much working as it should |
