each his own, I take the high road and try and do my best for people

Me too. That's why I use Mylars with a clear backing board AND a fullback, then another Mylar and put that in a top loader because anything less on those $2 books, is not the best. If it's a foil cover, I hermetically seal the top loader.

I guess some peoples' bests are better than other peoples' best.
I guess....but then I dont see my selling as a competition. I provide a service and a product I can be happy with.

LOL. I guess. I collected 30 yrs ago, and really just put it all aside other than higher value stuff.

I was "collecting" at the time, but no really seriously. It was just a few years when I was in college. Then I got a family and career, and just revisited it all a few years ago. If I had realized and been an ongoing, more serious collector I would have probably done new bags.

A couple things that you need to know about eGerber:

You can buy direct from them for A LOT less than Amazon and eBay.
Current size comics $13.00 for 50, $43.25 for 200, $186.00 for 1000
You do have to buy a minimum dollar amount. I think its $200.00. Not difficult if you want to replace poly’s with Mylar. You will have to wait a couple months because their on back-order, but they don’t charge until they ship.

Mylars use a different size standard.

Current 7 x 10 ½
Standard 7 ¼ x 10 ½
Silver/Gold 7 ¾ x 10 ½

BCW Poly

Current/Modern 6 7/8 x 10 ½
Silver/Regular 7 1/8 x 10 ½

I like the bigger Mylars because there is a wider border around the comics. I typically buy the Standard Mylytes2 and Silver Age fit with no problem. One word of warning the Silver/Gold don’t fit in a standard short box. You need either the graded or magazine boxes.

When ordering from eGerber, use the item number, 725M2 for Mylites, 700FB for Fullbacks. You’ll see in the description which bags the boards fit.

I hope that helps!

Gerber's current are 7" and the standard are 7.25". Should I just get standard for all, or is it better if it's a little "tighter" and get mostly current, but standard for the slightly older stuff?

Thanks in advance.

I didn’t read read through the whole thread, but my answer is; the Standard is a good all around size. You can fit giant size specials and a lot of TPBs. You can use standard from current to somewhere around late Silver/ early Bronze.

Edit: If you are selling I honestly wouldn’t bother unless you just want to look awesome when those books arrive. Its taken me over a year to re bag and board 1000 PC books with Mylar plus what I’m buying and subscription books and I’m still not done. I just don’t have the time other than 10-20 at a time. So any buyers that prefer Mylar would definitely appreciate the extra effort.

Yeah, same here. My stuff has been in boxes since the early 90's, and during Covid, seeing the prices, I got them out and started going through to see what I had. 5,000+ books in original bags. Many stuck together, or yellowing or wrinkling. Books are all fine though. Been a long process re-bagging and boarding because I am back into the spec of it all so my bags and boards are being taken by all the new books, lol.

At least I'm not acquiring anything, so it's just swap over for 2600 books!

Min order is $100 but I concur with this. My PC is full of Standard sized Mylites2/Full backs. The edge protection is nice. The stuff I don't intend to keep is usually in BCW silver sized bags/boards.
Only part I don't like about E.Gerber is the ordering is still done on the phone. Not Online or email.

If you're looking for a nice bag for submissions or stuff to sell, take a look at the ComicPro Line bags. They're made from OPP and they look clearer than standard poly. You can get a case direct from their website for $89.00 USD. I'm pretty sure that includes shipping. Of course that doesn't include the boards. If you buy theirs you have to pay shipping for those.

They also have some nice clear boards. Oh and I think you can use Buellers discount code to get 10% off.

We're looking to bag/board to sell exclusively.
