Are These Date Stamps?15409

Collector mattness private msg quote post Address this user
I picked up a few Dell books and a couple of the books have some dates written in ink and pencil on the covers. Would these be considered date stamps? Thank you

I haven't aired it out. It's part of the provenance. Galen130 private msg quote post Address this user
I don’t think so. They would look like old school ink stamps, not hand written…👍

Doubtful. You could probably get those off fairly easy though.

If I could, I would. I swear. DrWatson private msg quote post Address this user
Date stamps can be hand written.

Typically they have to be very light pencil or grease pencil and in inconspicuous locations to not effect grade. These likely would be grade hits.

Not sure what “5b” stands for…but that may not be a date stamp.

Kind of looks like a youngster was practicing writing their letters and numbers to me.

It was a one trick pony show but always hilarious. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
Could be a type of catalogue naming convention.

I don't think that was done by the newsstand, looks like someone was cataloging their books with some type of weird codes. But at the end of the day, I have no clue.
