ComicLink takes 10 percent and Heritage takes about 20 percent. You could negotiate with both companies before you commit. If your books are big keys and top grades I think Heritage would treat you better and listen to your needs. Comiclink is like pulling teeth if you don’t have the big guns. Just my experience, so don’t shot the messenger. Seen higher prices at Heritage for better books as well. Call both and compare!

reach out to me (or post here!) if you have DC keys, especially:
Detective comics 225
Superboy 68
Adv 283
Supes 30

Mid to higher grades only

But also always interested in seeing:
SC4 and SC22

I don’t tend to pay above market but you may get a better deal than giving away 20% HA

Condolences for the loss. Losing someone dear is very difficult .

Whatever you do, don’t trust any one individual and inform yourself about the prices they sell using gpa for example(recorded prices of sold books for all to see but it’s a paying site) . Speak to several people and take your time. Anyone sends you a private message putting pressure you should drop right away.

I agree with sly. Get them appraised. All of them don't sell blind. Just the slabed books are probably 60 thousand plus at auction after fees and commissions

I appreciate your advice.
I am very aware of the ones that are graded. I have
been working on these for a few years keeping track of sales
records.
No, I'm not in any hurry, and won't be pressured.
I really do appreciate all your help and looking out for me.
Great Advice

If they're all original owner, could they get pedigreed? The theme could be "These Are Awesome"... Just a thought.

@Ladygirl I think you will find fair dealing here. Also, and this will sound presumptuous, the people here appreciate comics just as your husband did. You husband would be welcome here. They will be in a good home if collectors here get any of them. Of course, get the market value, but it sounds like you have a good handle on that.

I don't know that's a good question. Anyone at CBCS know?
I brought these in when CBCS was in St.Pete.
Maybe I never mentioned it when getting graded.

I would not expect a mixed group of only 100 comics to get a pedigree. Just sayin'.

What town do you live in?

Anyone close to your location would probably prefer to look the raw books over in person instead of online.

Listing them on this forum with prices and images is cheap and easy.

CBCS graded book shows asterik next to grade
does it mean only copy graded?

The apple sauce and pudding were the best part... Bronte private msg quote post Address this user
My opinion is to get the ungraded (raw) graded. Even non keys can garner a much better return after being graded. Plus no worries about returns about not being what they are stated.

I'm thinking about that.
Steve went through books I had and
sorted the ones he thought I should get graded.
Wonderful guy

If you sell one key, it should be enough to get a majority if not all the books graded. That way you aren't out of pocket money.

As for asterisk, it means it presents better than it grades. For example a 7.0 looks more like a 7.5 but technically can't get the 7.5 grade

Edit

In my view, the grade assigned is the grade, so I generally ignore asterick.

No. The asterisk (or checkmark in a circle) means the comic presents better than its grade, possibly due to some interior defect.

For books of this value, she may want to do a bank wire transfer.

Personally, if I were buying a book for $20k, I'm pretty sure Id have enough money to be flying to see this thing in person and paying in person.

I hope I get to that point some day.

There are a couple books (DC) I am interested in.

JLA 1 and (less so) Green Lantern 1 in particular but also if you have ungraded but higher condition Superboy 68? Or other ungraded books could be interesting too (same as my list earlier).

Selling without the ebay, HA and other fees would split those savings between you and the buyer. It may be worth testing the waters here and comparing as a first step.
