Never ever ever watched the show from the 80s. (But somewhat know the characters after seeing them for so many years). I never intended to watch the new Netflix kevin smith cartoon but just tossed it on while netflix surfing Ended up watching all 5 episodes and i kinda liked it! Not top notch really liked, but i did thoroughly enjoy it. |

I enjoyed the new MOTU Netflix show...I did watch the 80s cartoon and this feels like a continuation of it. Artwork is great...many characters appear including Stinkor (lol!) for a brief moment voice by Jason Mews (Jay of Jay and Silent Bob). Good show. Triclops is voiced by Henry Rollins....Skeletor ofcourse is Mark Hamil. |

Not sure if I'll watch it or not....did watch the show in the 80's....although I think I liked Thunder Cats and Silver Hawks more?? (wasn't allowed to watch GI Joe - but I snuck in episodes here and there!) Oh!!..and of course Transformers!!! |

I really enjoyed the new MoTU as well, looking forward to the next chapter. I could do without all these "Aftershows" though. "Talking Dead" was the only one worth anything. IMO

What about the fact that He-Man is killed off in the 1st episode?? I heard that Fans of the old show are very pissed about it. |

Kevin Smith commented on this by saying "do you really think Mattel is going to let us kill off the 2 main characters of this product line?". |

There is also a comic book tie in that is supposedly the prequel to the show. It's a limited series. |

On another note; Alex Ross did a superb job on a limited edition virgin cover for the comic series. It’s a wraparound cover as well. |

The still art in the intro for MOTU: Revelations is reminiscent of the box art from the 1980s toys.

Just finished watching the first 5 episodes. It turned the whole mythos upside down, and I liked it! It’s like a What If or Elseworlds. Wait until you see the cliffhanger. My boys and I laughed at all the cheesy wordplays. Some were so bad, it was so good. Is it wrong that I kept seeing Hamill’s Joker every time Skeletor spoke. Or Conroy’s Batman as Mer-Man’s voice (ok, maybe not so much), but it was like bringing back the old band together. I forgot how many characters there are. They didn’t have my favorites, Stratos and Man-E Faces. Maybe next season. Got to find all those old MOTU action figures and dig them out of the basement. |
