I sold a couple DD Volume 2 #9 (first Echo) on MCS. The CBCS 9.8 sold a while back for about $850. Last week the CBCS 9.6 sold for $330. I think those were high water marks for MCS, probably not Ebay though. I have another 9.6 in this weeks auction, currently only about $170.

Sold this Previews bound-in editon at $320 via the MCS eBay Store. There is a Plasm O that sold for over $500, but that was the 1 Staple Variant which was sent out promotionally.

Obviously there would have been many mor thousands of the bound-in edition printed, I wonder how many of those are still in existence as opposed to having been thrown away?

Now if someone could slab that Previews...

An ASM #23 CGC 7.0 sold this month for $4320.
Last month one sold for $550.
Two months before that, $300.

Definitely an error in the data or maybe you made a typo with the issue # or grade?

I don't disagree there was an error. Whether or not it's the data, or the purchase, there was an error.

Here is a new one!

9.8 CBCS Alpha Flight #1 just substantially surpassed the previous cgc high in the GoCollect database.

Sold today on ebay for $574.99. And yes, it is Unremarkable Scifinator Pedigree

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
$575 for Alpha Flight 1? Sweet fancy moses. My first page of eBay search results has four cheaper BINs to boot.

@xkonk - but, this was in new CBCS Sonic weld encasement, as opposed to one in the CBCS oldder label and the rest being cgc slabs. πŸ˜‰

I mean, fair enough. Part of my surprise was just the price in general. I hadn't noticed that our friends to the north had become so popular.

@xkonk c’mon man, it’s the label, not the comic. πŸ˜‰

Seriously though. There was another AF issue that sold high yesterday which was also in new cbcs sonicweld i think. So maybe the same buyer.

Personally really like alpha. But it's a speculation book. Just like most x-men / deadpool / mutant related related books. Disney bought fox studios and the rights. Big gains or losses possible either way. Just like the type 2 silver eagles related this year. Me personally just spreading it around and see what happens, using for lack of a better phrase the shotgun approach

Almost $200 more than the previous cgc book? Sounds like the person buying it didn't know what they were doing or it was a shill.

If anyone is buying a book that's well about GPA because of it's "new sonic weld" case then I need to submit some books to CBCS while these suckers are buying.

@50AE_DE - it was my comic and was a Buy It Now, so no shill bidding, and, I did not buy my own comic.

More likely, someone wanted a CBCS sonicweld AF1 9.8.

.

Well congrats on the sale. I doubt there is any kind of premium for a sonic weld case though.

I don't know. I have paid more for a book because it was CBCS graded as opposed to being graded by the cgc. An Avengers 196 in 9.6, I believe.

.@50AE_DE - same here as @DrWatson, when I see cgc, i pay based on lower grade unless it is old style @sborock era label. And, i pay a little more for sonicweld encasements as opposed to the older clip encasements.

@Scifinator I think it's known that CGC was much tougher with the older labels and may fetch a little more than the newer graded books. I think paying more for how a case if put together is insane. So is the new saying, "buy the weld, not the grade?"
Post 51 IP   flag post
Collector 50AE_DE private msg quote post Address this user
The only way I would pay more for a CBCS book is if the other book is an EGS graded book. If that were the case, then yes, I would pay more for the "weld". I think it's still going to take some time before CBCS gets to the same level as CGC, with regards to resell value. I will buy any CBCS books that I think are priced well, but I don't see myself paying more for a CBCS book if an equal CGC book is available.

@50AE_DE Just wait until you pay market value for the cgc book and get an over-graded turd.

That's why I do the best I can to check the book over before buying it. Both companies have overgraded books. Just because cbcs sonic welds their cases doesn't mean their grading is more reliable.

I think we got off track. I don''t care about the weld. I liked the clips. I'm talking about paying more for a book because it is CBCS graded versus the same graded by the cgc.
